Kinda insane that BTS is up there with Adele and Taylor, both of them releasing very successful albums this year.

My colleague who is an anti was humming Spring Day today, and I was 'GOTCHA'.
This song is so, so good. No matter how many times you listen to it.

?????????
Now kpop is responsible for global warming.

So to take specific fandoms out of this... are you asserting that you think the worst segments of every fandom are actually enabled by the fandom itself and thus this is why it grows and becomes the loudest segment in the end? Trying to read this without fandom bias here, and this seems to be at the heart of your statement?
Yeah I guess that pretty much sums up my take on this issue. Though if we take another step back, I think it's true for any type of community in general.

you were mentioning armys a whole and now you mention shooters in this comment. I would prefer if you made it clear about who all your points were aimed at as i was speaking about the fandom .
the bolded statement is describing toxic behavior from toxic people thus i will negate it not being about armys explaining the hardships to new armys as mentioned in your statement .
The underlined part- i have no right to tell u not to talk about ur experiences and i believe i was not at all. I was only explaining things that sounded untrue since it came off as a general observation and not your personal experience.
i won't make efforts to "change your mind" further as i get the feelings its no longer about discussion but more about self egos being hurt.
My point from the very start ( and, I'll admit, I might not have been clear ) is that the way ARMY operates create a favorable environment for shooters. Shooters are given ammunitions by ARMY, they are cheered on by ARMY, they are allowed to exist. 'Yes, they are a bit extreme, but their heart is at the right place, y'know ?'
For comparision, my other fandom, BP, enables solos. This pisses me off. But that's what it is, and there is nothing I can do about it. The fandom allows them to exist and thrive. And that's the same thing for ARMY and their shooters.
Everyone who learns about BTS and ARMY history isn't going to become an asshole overnight. However this immersion in the ARMY mythos for a baby ARMY who probably have listened to 10% of BTS songs might not be the best way to go. That's just my opinion on the matter.
Also, don't worry, my ego cannot be hurt by fandom drama. I wouldn't be on akp if it could.

no one created the "us vs them" situation expect the actual scenarios that indeed played out that way. Policing armys on how they tell their experience is wrong on every level for me. It is up to individuals to decide what they want to do.
I'm not policing anyone, if some shooters wants to feel righteous by sending death threats, shitting on groups and harassing multis, that's their right I guess. Kinda. I just think they sound like zealous fanatics who think everything they do is justified because they are on 'the good side'.
What right do you have to tell me to not talk about my own experience, and my own take with fandom though ? If my feeling is that repeating ad nauseam how much better ARMY is in comparision to other fandoms isn't healthy, you will not change my mind about it.

Please edit that sentence, it's really too much and unecessary.
I can edit it, but I was referring to a specific event. So it won't make any sense.
Oh well, guess I'll edit.

brainwashing = lies
telling actual incidents isn't brainwashing to me is my point.
the bolded statement sounds very silly to me bcos it simply isnt true. If you are suggesting people shouldn't develop narcissism , then i understand that. But i dont believe this is exclusive to armys.
Brainwashing is not about lies, it's about shifting your mindset to see the reality in a different way, and interpreting facts. Facts says nothing if you don't interpret them.
The bolded statement is literally what happens everytime the White Paper Project is brought up. Somehow the entire kpop-sphere sided with [REDACTED] to kill BTS's career in Japan. Thus if you are an EXO-L, or from any other fandoms involved at that time, you are a nazi.
This is not exclusive to ARMY. But the way ARMY have been telling BTS's story as if they were writing a Martyrdom is definitely not helping. There is something about the way ARMY has been telling their story as if they were a opressed group that had to fight for survival that is so, so wrong on every level, and has really created a 'Us VS Them' mindset.

Why do you think learning about their Faves journey through success is weird? Even BTS spoke about the hate they endured in the past.
Did you purposely missed my point ?
My point is that MAYBE baby ARMY who are starting to learn about BTS shouldn't be brainwashed into thinking that everyone is out there trying to get BTS, that everyone who isn't an ARMY are basically [REDACTED], and that BTS and ARMY are better, smarter, purer and overall better than anyone else, and that everything they do is justified because of these past hardships.
-
While this might seem true for every groups under the sun - they are shooters everywhere -, it's especially true for ARMY. I think it would be dishonnest to not admit it.
This mythos of BTS VS the entire world ( or at least the kpop world ), makes shooters think that they are 'superior' for supporting BTS and not another group. They say things like 'get on the good side of history' they praise 'pure blooded' ( ) ARMY over multis as if somehow only listening to one group on repeat made them smarter I guess.
There is this self-rightousness that I can sometimes taste.
A wicked sense of... almost-nationalistic, or religious pride that doesn't sit well with me. There is this 'never forgive, never forget' mindset, and every baby ARMY are told as soon as they start enjoying the fandom how terrible the world was for BTS and ARMY, and how they managed to surpass all adversities, because they are smarter, work harder, are the chosen ones, and how they are making everyone who ever stood in their way PAY.
And I don't know... on one hand it's also part of what makes the fandom so damn powerful, let's not kid ourselves there. But damn, at what cost.

Joon, Tae and Suga, in that order
Tae can be pretty savage, but Joon is more constant and subtle in his savagery.

It's true. I couldn't watch her on that show (American Idol? I think) because she keeps hitting on very young male contestants and thinks it's quirky or cute.
Oh yees, like that time where she basically tricked a candidate into kissing her ? It's so weird like. Girl, everyone doesn't want to kiss you. Not enough that you don't need to ask for consent jeez.
It's funny because I was watching Bo Burnham's videos recently, and in one of them she is presenting him and saying 'he is only eighteen years old... well THANK GOD you're eighteen at least', and the poor guy just seems embarassed.
LIKE, GIRL. WHAT ARE YOU SAYING.

Yeah, I haven't heard that song in a long time and went to listen to it now as an adult and the song is homophobic if I'm understanding the lyrics correctly because it seems she is using gay as an insult?
Kinda, yeah, she is saying that the guy has the 'gay' stereotypes, which are kinda portrayed negatively.
But also she complains that he doesn't want to date her ? Very incel-ish of her.
Honestly she did so many cringy/problematic things, Idek.

is what i read on tumblr and didn't even want to try.
All you need to know is that the last episode was so bad, hardcore fans were convinced that Moffat was pranking them, and that a secret good last episode would eventually be revealed.
I miss these simpler times

Freedom of speech and creation allows you to make whatever sick thing you want to make though ( as long as it's legal, obviously ).
But then the audience is allowed to respond to this. If lyrics are shocking, why would anyone be surprised if the audience is shocked ? If they want to boycott it, aren't they allowed to express themselves too ?

I was there and it was , and i wasn't even in the fandom. i watched first 3 seasons but didn't particularly care about the show. I couldn't escaped it even if i tried, most of doctor who blogs ni followed were into it. It was wild!
Ya it was crazy, but what a time to be alive.
Also yeah Shelock really went downhill after the first two seasons, and the fourth was basically a joke.
