What if the Irene scandal was set up by SM?

Irene was too big, and red velvet too powerful. So they were direct concurrents of their upcoming girl group like SNSD was for RV in 2014/2015.

They needed to give a blow to the RV mark to build up aespa mark in the best conditions without any concurrents.

And they perfectly knew that Irene is even bigger than RV, at last in Korea. So they put up this scheme to diminish her power through this 'scandal'.

Some people suggested that they debuted aespa to silence this scandal, but what if this scandal is actually directly linked to their debut but more in a planned way. What if this scandal was planned to destroy a group in the aim to better build their new investment?

The first suggestion doesn't seem realistic to me. SM probably planned everything quite seriously concerning aespa's debut and releases. And they have more than enough power and money to silence any bullying going under their roof or also any 'dating' scandal.

I perfectly remember how in 2014, SNSD had at last 3 dating scandal if not more. Yoona, Sooyoung, Fany and Taeyeon. Their data was 'corrupted' lol. And of course right in the year they debuted a new girl group, RV.

In conclusion, I think the same happened concerning Irene as well.

They must perfectly know her personality. How to push her, trigger her and what would make her mad. And they used it against her.

In this case, probably a planned lack of professionalism. And the stylist also took a long video of her and she didn't even saw it. What a makjang lol.

So that's it. That's the thoughts that crossed my mind concerning this case

Her name would be REN , it means a lotus flower. And she would be the center and visual member as well as a lead dancer and a sub vocalist.

With her the group would have been perfect in my opinion.

Karina would have been the leader, main dancer and rapper.

Girl also looks like a chinese version of Irene. Crazy. Honestly, I think she is the prettiest in the 3rd and 4th generation, right after Irene. Yeah even prettier that Tzuyu

I also thought of Seulgi, but she is too old to debut in 2020 and she is literally perfect in RV.

Karina was my face since pre debut, with her dancing and presence in Taemin's song, but since her debut in aespa she is trying the girl crush concept too hard; doesn't suit my taste. i liked her mysterious and foxy persona better and i liked her face better before too. or at last i prefer more natural make up on her which enhances her unique features.

There's this weird assumption that the Korean audience only wants generic slop, but the only generic slop that charts well is the summer bop kind.

Which is why Queendom is actually a calculated and brilliant move by SM, and not them trying to "sabotage" or short-change their older group. We can see that with its charting. To my ears, it sounds not unlike the OMG or Brave Girls songs of this year. Except better.

Is it the best RV title track?

No, but it's far from the worst.

Well that's the problem, mid tier or mediocre is just not enough. they've been gone for 2 years, this should have been bomb. Not just ok.

People were very hyped up and had a high expectations about RV specially after Psycho and Monster, that's why the disappointment is also bigger.

it's because the reason i like them so much is specifically because of their songs and their concepts;

and since i really like them, i expect a lot from them, probably more than the average listener;

so when they underperform i'm even more disappointed, i don't know why i should hide it;

Queendom is growing on me too, like it's a nice song, and in my RV marathons i'm enjoying it more and more; i'm just not blowen away and that into it;

dun dun dance was fun too, it lifted my mood up in the summer; but it almost felt like a song any popular girl group would have released; nothing specifically related to OMG; it came and it went away with not much waves.
