Why are people confused lol? Hybe just further confirmed what bts said themselves. They'll be focusing more on solo music and take a break from group music.
They themselves said they are gonna be filming for run bts and release it little by little and they have brand endorsements and contracts as 7 members which they have to film for.
So it's technically not a "hiatus" for the group but just a musical hiatus.

I have a lot to say but i cant put it in words coherently rn but I'll attrmpt, first of all, I was expecting this sometime this year but not immediately after their 9th anniversary, that's really foul bts 
, but ig it's better to announce it this way, and I'm glad it came from them and not just a company announcement or something.
Enlistment plays a big part in this decision but honestly I think regardless of it they needed this. They all seem very burnt out and lost and it physically pains me to see them like this. All the expectations, burdens, criticism, and the responsibility put on their shoulders catched up to them ig.
So I really, really understand their decision to take some time apart from the group. They said they had to sideline a lot of their personal ambitions to keep running forward as a group so I'm glad they are finally getting time for exploring their individuality more, and I look forward to their solo stuff just as much as I look forward to ot7 together again.
You can't continue working harmoniously if you have to suppress your ideas and emotions without cracking at some point so like tae said, this is an healthy step towards bts being together for a long time.
Really looking forward to their chapter 2 but also selfishly hoping it isn't too long. You got my support and love no matter what.

Might seem hard to believe these days, but people do work for reasons outside of money and fame. Even in our day to day lives we do a lot of things purely for personal happiness and because we love it, and even if success is a by product of it its not the main goal.
I study hard to get good grades and that's because having good grades make me happy and it makes my parents proud. Sure, it means I get more scholarship opportunities, maybe it will get me into my dream uni, but rn that's not my ulterior motive, I just do it cause I like studying and it makes me happy. I'm sure you'd have some things in life you do just cause you love it, too.
And that's precisely what BTS are talking about. Yes, there's ONE award show they really care about, the grammys. And that's called having a dream. You tell me with a straight face they care about other awards (like k-awards) like they used to 2 years into their career. They've just achieved so much atp that even they know they don't need to prove shit to anyone. That's why 'they ain't about it' anymore. Although I'm sure the awards and records do feel like a cherry on top.
People who get to pursue what they love and actually get money and recognition out of it are very lucky lol. Glad bts are one of them too!
