I don’t think it’s gonna affect creative direction. But it may affect who gets comebacks and what projects get pushed because that’s what stakeholders care about and if HYBE sits on the board they may have a say.
Now the thing about SM is they keep all their artists. They give them solos and releases even if they don’t sell as much. The company loyalty is high even if everything else about them is shitty. This may not be the best business decision but it was a very human decision. It’ll be a pity if this model has to change.
tbqh Bighit Music kept Lee Hyun all these years and gave comebacks to Lee Hyun, promoted him, even tho he basically gave nothing financially and PLEDIS with Fromis9 with minimal returns (tho very very promising future investment).
It was SOURCE MUSIC who fcked GFriend up and NU’EST members basically decided not to continue being a group. People’s speculation on HYBE treating their flop artists differently is based on hate boner imo🤷🏻♀️

On a more serious note, I don’t think HYBE will have any say on creative direction. On the joint Bang PD-LSM statement, they said their main focus is on the restructurization of SM management board/aka business-y side of things.
I agree with one user replying that this battle is going to be long and will prob hurt them a little. But the only possible effect, for now, is the exit of notable producers who are pro-LSM it Chris Lee thrives. YYJ has said that he’ll follow LSM’s footsteps on new statement and wont go with SM 3.0 w/o LSM’s guidance/approval in it.

Well HYBE has BTS....that alone will make investors mouth drool.
And knowing the investors, they'll probably see any connection with HYBE- means a connection with BTS.
And BTS at this point is a brand in itself.
Like the biggest thing to come out of Korea and has put Korea name on the map in so many ways.
So I could see the investors going with LSM x HYBE duo.
The fact I'm considering Lee Sooman and Bang PD a duo now lmao...Sooman must've been real desperate to turn to HYBE, his biggest competition..I guess you WILL get humbled when you get too big headed
Kakao overall has better leverage domestically but some investors are skeptic @ kakao bc they usually just dump money without taking care over the comp they actually invested in lol. HYBE usually allows them to retain creative control+give money+connection so for growth I see why LSM is eye-ing HYBE more. Kakao is also unpredictable bc they can absolutely strengthen their stake while swaying the minority investors aka the 9% is just the beginning.
All sides have pros and cons imo. It’s up to HYBE’s deal rn.

employees seem happy but LSM does have his own loyal ones so it’s quite literally a civil war. I’m curious about the market tomorrow lol.

Allkpop is the right one. KRX demanded hybe to clarify abt their stance (their last statement was very vague) by 6pm. No official translation as of yet but I saw reports just now from HYBE official position, stating they are considering to buy SM shares but details will be disclosed within a month once technical stances are clear.

DearU is a direct competitor to Weverse, how would they keep things in line?
yea that’s why I think they’ll need to really clear out the deals’ details IF this happens bc FTC wont approve. Details had to be posted 6 wks before board meeting.
Also this deal wont happen at all if the court isnt in favor of LSM’s injunction tho I think they will bc LSM had a very strong legal footing.

im very confused ?? i really don't think lsm would ever agree to have their company ran by hybe , lsm never even agreed to having kakao get so many shares in sm. Why is hybe a white knight when they are not less shady than anybody else , how would it help out lee soo man if they were the main shareholders??
Kakao IS shady, just the fact that the co-CEOs agreed to issue convertible bonds to them in a very short time without consulting LSM is a very shady business practice. LSM is also kicked out and essentially only becoming the largest shareholder but not enough voting rights.
LSM also hates HYBE but at least with HYBE he retains his voting right / management rights and HYBE is less powerful compared to kakao so this is a much better deal for LSM personally. Tho idk if it’s enough to sway board members.

So LSM was already suspecting this would happen and called up HYBE? Then SM current directors hurried to backstab him while he was in the US with a fractured arm?
Both SM directors and Kakao say that it isnt their intention to have Kakao swallowing up SM as a whole but I don't see how that isn't the main purpose. Kakao are not the good guys.
And if HYBE managed to get those shares what would this mean for DearU/Weverse?
I think they would have the rules cleared up like for ex HYBE wont mess with Dear U’s development etc

I think 28th Feb is still possible
but then they might ship albums late
I’d rather have a March album than a Feb album with staggered shipping (fck u BH please solve this problem).
We can have a prerelease tho!! 😁❤️

We have literally gotten music every month since June 2022
June 2022 - Proof, Left and Right
July 2022 - Jack in the Box
August 2022 - Bad Decisions
September 2022 - Sexy Nukim, Rush Hour
October 2022 - The Astronaut
November 2022 - Dreamers
December 2022 - Indigo
January 2023 - Vibe
Will this be the first month since June 2022 with no new music cause Jimin or Yoongi's albums would have been announced by now if they were Feb releases.
If Jimin has a prerelease we can get one on Feb
