As someone who complained alot about the lack of promotion when MLSR dropped I'm happy to see it. Seems like JYPE is actually making some good moves this time and the delayed drop of the dance practice has helped maintain attention for MLSR as we get closer to the album. I guess this means they have earned a single cookie (but only the lumpy partially burnt one )

Well if people have a problem with the YT numbers they can rest easy knowing that TXT also saw huge growth in Spotify and Melon

Been a fan of them since 2014, from what I saw it was a lot of radio silence. Like people would just completely exclude them from hot/trendy group and song lists until Dope and then people acted like they were just kinda popular for being loud and fun. It was in 2016 when the hate really kicked up cause they started winning major awards and we're too successful to be ignored, but even then people tried to minimize their success by putting Wanna One over them in Korea, Exo for Chine, etc
Edit: also people used Beast/Highlight against them by saying BTS would never surpass them as the biggest nonbig3 bg, very similar to how some kpop fans talk about big4 ggs versus gidle/Ive nowadays

Ah yes the play-listing complaint. People don't understand spotify play-listing is literally the new "payola" in the industry, worse than than the old radio system.
Spotify are literal gatekeepers.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/d…ylisting/?sh=6e291d1823a2
The 3 big labels own playlist curation companies
https://www.digitalmusicnews.c…on-top-spotify-playlists/
Two labels (Sony and UMG) own around 7% of Spotify

BTS is a foreign independent artist (distribution deal only)
This can't be stressed enough. The artist literally has to be under one of the "big" labels, an industry plan, or literally has to give up royalties, etc to get this play-listing.

It can be argued independent can make more streaming by not being under a label

People complained about paying payola for radio but want to praise play-listing for spotify?
I don't think OP is trying to praise either, just pointing out how Hybe continues to have negative effort for Bangtan solo work
