I knew this was the fall of kwangya
not happy to see aespa go but love to see the AI idol idea die horribly
-
But is this definitive fact, that she got into kelper because her brother is in TXT?
yes it is, I don't know why people like to pretend it isn't
nobody would have noticed her if her brother wasn't in TXT
-
I found it pretty unfair she got voted in just because her brother is in TXT
-
2023 is the fall of kwangya
-
haha sure, maybe make a couple more forum posts in the kpop forum about them and they will
-
Here is more or less what she said
QuoteEveryone… No matter how busy and tough they have it, those idols who want to date will do so secretly. After they’ve debuted for some time and they become seasoned in the industry, as long as their dating doesn’t cause a huge ruckus, I think agencies don’t really enforce control that much. They just say things along the lines of “don’t get caught.” But as for trainees, as you’re in the midst of preparing to debut, I’ve seen people get cut [because of it]. Interaction with other idols is more common than you think at music shows. First of all, during the first week of promotions, as you absolutely must go around giving your CDs to other singers, there are some who fall for each other then. Or, there’s a time when all the singers go to greet the PD after the show, and during that time, the idols all face each other in a long corridor. They could fall for each other then too. Or, as the idol industry is really small, most people know each other through someone at least. I think it’s more common where one person likes another and asks their mutual for an introduction. And of course, there’s the one place that can’t be left out. I think you guys all know this one. [ISAC]. I don’t have to say it but it’s already famous as a meeting spot for idols. That’s right. It’s a place where idols can meet. They exchange glances or notes with their numbers on it.

Lovelyz’s Jin Apologizes For And Deletes Video In Which She Discussed Idols Dating
Feb 5, 2023
Former Lovelyz member Jin has apologized for a video in which she talked about idols dating.
Jin, who opened her own YouTube channel this past fall, recently posted a Q&A video in which she answered various questions about idol life. One of the topics she discussed was how idols date behind the scenes, and Jin described how idols can sometimes catch one another’s eye backstage at music shows or at events like MBC’s Idol Star Athletics Championships.
She also mentioned that while many agencies are strict about prohibiting dating early on in idols’ careers, they grow laxer as time goes on and idols get further along into their careers.
However, some fans criticized the video, saying that it could cause misunderstandings about the other Lovelyz members.
On February 5, Jin deleted the video and posted the following apology on her YouTube channel:
QuoteBefore I posted my latest Q&A video, I received questions in advance on Instagram, and the questions I received the most were questions about dating.Display More
Since the goal of my latest video was to sate [my subscribers’] curiosity by answering their questions, I personally thought that I’d done a fairly good job answering [those questions] without crossing the line, and I truly had no idea that it would cause this kind of misunderstanding and controversy.
I was thoughtless.
Regardless of my intentions, I think I was definitely wrong to leave room for misinterpretation.
I’m truly sorry for having caused a stir.
I will delete the video in question.
Once again, I apologize.

hope koreans don't hear about this or they will go insane lol
-
I bet plenty of allkpop/reddit useres are breathing a big sigh of relief none of them are in korea lol

The biggest problem is that malicious comments are going to happen anyway and now you have to trust that
A) each company likes having a recurring +50k cost to clean that up
B) each company takes the comments as seriously as you
You forget that an incident like that happened because weverse has 0 content moderation that isn't a ban-list of words lol so as long as you get creative (and have multiple google accounts) you can keep doing whatever you want
In my opinion having one app is perfect because they can have a dedicated content moderation team that focuses on that (so it isn't given off to 1 intern with a lot of free time or 1 guy in a closet working 10 extra hours now) instead of it being either a shoddy operation in the company or outsourced to some company that does 10 other things.

These girls are killing it to start the year. Thank goodness for them. Yeah, they're not "Kpop". But whatever. Their two songs are great.

K-netz are hypocrites. It is true it shdn’t be k-pop, but cmon, k-pop groups promoted in Japan with korean songs Korea has been the one banning Japanese media but allowed to promote their media in Japan.
I feel like a lot of people who hold this opinion don't know the history between japan and korea, and why korea might feel a little weird that a only-japanese group, from a japanese company that have said they want to "take over" kpop, might be doing this.
Also big difference between a kpop group promoting occasionally in japan as a kpop group and an "International girl group" promoting only in korea with only japanese members.

People don’t like non East Asians to be a part of kpop why is this surprising lol.
Well korean pop music being made by japenese companies with only japanese members while being marketed as if it were korean pop music seems a little sussy to me (I always assumed you at the very least had to be produced by a korean company)

because xg is good
I don't think that they weren't trained was the biggest problem with Kaachi, I just find it interesting that you can have a group of exclusively japanese members, made by a japanese company and then, all of a sudden, everybody says its kpop because they call themselves an international girl group and are based in korea?
it has very interesting implications I guess
