I was kidding I know them as the flop hybe group
As I said
Being ignorant to other groups just makes you ignorant, not right 🤷🏾♀️
It’s actually exactly that. Ofc people are listening to bigger group that’s why they are in fact popular. Lol
It’s not called “ignorance” this isn’t knowledge. lol. This is listener experience. This is how people behave.
Display MoreThe main people saying they're musically similar happen to be largely girl crush only stans. Ig cute all sounds the same to them
I've been saying they're closer to Fromis musically and arguably early Fromis visually as well

NewJeans doesn't really go that far into the cutesy/innocent kpop sound
Yeah but this is a totally irrelevant point.
People aren’t listening to FORMIS or whomever.
They are listening to NJ or Gidle or IVE or Aespa.
And yes ILLIT and New Jeans so far have nothing that distinguishes them from each other.
No one looks at magnetic and thinks oh “Aespa would do this song” or “ITZY” and the other known groups they’re thinking new jeans.
Yeah. No one not a fan will be able to tell them apart. Not musically not stylistically.
That’s exactly what viral is.
It’s been trending among a lot of muggles and non fans not because they have a huge fandom.
"Apple shared customer data with US government in a record-high 90% of cases"
https://www.businessinsider.co…ests-customer-data-2020-1
"U.S. government requests for Google user data up 510% since 2010"
like the article says they give some information but not always all the asked information. Which is the point. It’s up to their discretion what data they release.
But didn't wonyoung do the exact same thing with google for Sojang? Starship went to the California district court to ask google to reveal who Sojang was, the court said yes, they got the ID and sued her. The only difference is Ador is going to the California federal courts, not district but the result should be the same because the base facts haven't changed, its still for the information on a Korean channel and as far as I know, neither have the Korean laws.
I’m confused about jurisdiction, is it a Korean Channel based in Korea?
You must not follow the news. lol.
And the government can’t even get companies like Google and Apple to fully give information during criminal investigations let alone defamation claims.
IMO they’re trying to scare that YouTube channel but if they’re in the US no one can do anything to them lol.
I mean there is precedent with Wonyoung, its going to be hard for a court to depart from that precedent because the situation is basically the same. Korean youtube channel, defamation towards a korean kpop group and wide variety of individual idols and google already gave that info out once.
Companies abide by local laws. It’s not a single precedence.
The country sets the precedence first. Sure Google can do something because they are a private entity but if they do this in the US and release people’s info cuz somebody’s feelings got hurt they’re gonna be sued for a lot more than anyone can imagine.
will this even work in the US. Genuine question.
Cuz like people more powerful and rich than NJ get slandered everyday. the first amendment right to free speech is paramount
Maybe if they’re able to prove loss of income or damages they may have a case but otherwise imo this is near impossible in the US.
Obviously a lot of groups are bigger than SNSD because kpop itself is bigger now.
But in Korea it’s SNSD. I don’t think kpop is even as big as it was in 2nd Gen. I don’t think new jeans can go on some show and have the whole nation talk about them and watch them. They release catchy songs sure but they aren’t the moment. It’s not just them even twice and bp were not as big as SNSD because by 3rd Gen as well I don’t think kpop was as relevant in Korea any more.
I say this as a die hard 2nd Gen hater but for Korea it’ll always be a frenzy with 2nd Gen.
And I also understand a bit on why that is I saw it on a tiktok about how kids have other interests these days like influencers/youtubers/tiktokers etc. Previously it was only through idols they got to experience that “living vicariously”/“parasocial” type feels. Now it’s available in a variety of media. So yeah Kpop peaked in Korea with 2nd Gen while everywhere else it grew.
Display MoreI wish you could see my actual face as I read this.
The actual numbers aren't reliable but the hypothetical numbers if BP released more music will somehow make them have better digitals than the actual digitals of the songs they actually released?
Sis.
Please.
As a MooMoo, this was one of my greatest all time wins against the Blinks of One___yu
I'll never forget the multi page prediction thread for where Mamamoo and BP would debut on MelOn.
Almost everyone had BP debuting near the top and at LEAST 10 spots ahead of Mamamoo.
I argued for DAYS that BP was NOT more popular than MMM in Korea at the time and that Blinks were being disrespectful.
Then the night of the song releases happened.
And I won. Oh how glorious it was.
So no, I will not entertain the mere suggestion BP was the most popular girl group at debut. They couldn't even outchart Mamamoo when they dropped songs at the SAME hour.
(Yes, I know they had better longevity overall, but the point was proven when the songs dropped and MMM dominated the first 4 weeks)
Yes. Thats how popular they are. Even now I can’t say New Jeans themselves hold a candle to BP’s global popularity.
Display MoreWhat?
Are you seriously trying to argue that YouTube views had more value than digitals, album sales and touring? There is a reason those metrics continue to stand the test of time, while nobody gives a damn about YT view counts anymore, and in 2016, Twice crushed BlackPink in that area. And not just them either.
GFriend did. MAMAMOO did as well.
BlackPink had WAY more YT views than Mamamoo in 2017, so why did Mamamoo debut higher on the charts when both groups dropped their new mini albums on the same hour? Why did Mamamoo take #1 while setting a new record for unique listeners in the first 24 hours?
And that's 2017.
You're in here arguing BlackPink was the top group at DEBUT. Which I'm convinced someone is paying you akorns under the table to argue that just to troll, cause ain't no WAY anyone would believe that.
They had zero album sales. They weren't touring yet obviously. And their digitals were WAY below not just Twice, but GFriend and Mamamoo as well.
Do you have ANYTHING that objectively illustrates how BlackPink was a more popular group than Twice in Korea in 2016?
Lmao. Stop it.
No I’m not arguing that at all. BP’s release schedule and promo worked against seeing how popular they actually were.
They are the only group for whom this argument works and none other.
It’s a fact that they had very few songs and very few releases. This made it apparently seem like they are less popular.
But in actuality they were much more popular than anyone else. And this was visible in their international charting on YouTube/Spotify etc.
This argument will not work for ANYONE other than BP ever.
I’m not saying their numbers exist I’m saying for BP alone their numbers are deceptive.
Display MoreISaidISaid provide one metric that proves BlackPink was more popular than Twice in 2016 and 2017 in Korea.
PLEASE
I need to see this.
Why are you so adamantly wrong?
They couldn't outchart, get more ULs or win more music shows going head to head with Mamamoo in 2017, but they debuted more popular than TWICE?
LMAO
Why do you cape so hard for debut BlackPink? This is a consistent theme with you now.
Their YouTube and social media presence is more than enough proof. Why do I need more.
In korea it was very competitive indeed. What about it. Doesn’t change anything else.
Between 2016-2018 YouTube is #1 way to determine who is the biggest kpop group it was THE pinnacle of kpop global popularity far more than any other point in time.
There was nothing more important than this at that time.
BP weren’t lacking in Korea while miles ahead of everyone else internationally. Thats why they are without a doubt the number 1 group since their first year.
MMM with their nuguness were in never contention for any top spot ever Yama let it go.
Come on now. They don't belt that high but they were stable and good singers. They're nothing compared to the groups mentioned by that user. I give you the jennie lazy issue but they weren't attack for their vocals by knetz most especially on encore. They weren't even hunted like how Twice, Jimin, IVE, LSF was talked about on a larger scale
The jisoo talentless came from her dancing, don't make things up. It was made by antis
Feel free to show receipts how knetz criticized their vocals
Btw, let's not make this about them, I was just simply asking when was it cuz I don't remember at all
lol jisoo’s bad singing has been called out many times. There are so many threads on so many forums.
It was always that way. You’re just rewriting history.
BP were indeed seen as a weak vocal group. YG in general is always seen that way. Since the dawn of time.
