The foreign member bringing in the most money, very interesting. Was the fansign only for Chinese fans?
Of course not

interesting thread. For all the hype on Lucas and Winwin, it’s actually Ten pulling in the $ in WayV.

Generally speaking, it’s Ten (far and away), then Winwin, then Lucas. Fourth spot changes between Kun, Yangyang and Xiaojun.
Well, for fans signs, it is usually Ten, Chinese albums sales and MD would be Winwin, then Ten/Lucas.
However, I believe the Keep Running & fashion campaigns revenue from Lucas would contribute much more than the above things.
LSM always had this Chinese market boner and it's understandable, the stan market there is huge (the dedication of C-bars are unparalleled). He went close with EXO, but was short-lived when Luhan, Kris, and Tao left the group. I'm just confused why he keeps insisting this world culture/culture technology bullsh*t
But wayv concept and songs are really good
They all do it at the same time......
You think they’re all posting “one china” because they want too?
Plus even top actors, entertainers etc attended a gathering to to study the spirit of the 19th Party Congress, where Xi gave that speech and set out his “Thought on Socialism With Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.” even people like Lu Han were there. No need to act like this...
OK, so what I said is correct, you don't have any evidence.
You think they post "one china" because they are forced to? If people support trump or Biden, they are free to express their thoughts, but support ccp must be forced to do it?
And, Do you know how many Chinese stars (big in China) that don't post one china and still earn so much. How could you explain that?
Because many of us are from 3rd world countries so they think we’re too poor to support our favourite groups. We buy albums too and those streaming records contribute to giving our faves more publicity.
A lot of Westerners and East Asians think we’re ugly, dirty due to our skin tones, and uncivilized. It’s why I’m not surprised to see k-talk show hosts praising “blonde haired, blue-eyed girls” for being BTS fans despite there being other ARMYs standing right next to them consisting of different races, including SEAsians.
If that's the case, why sea fans still support Kpop
Display MoreIdk but why do they have so many chinese idols? Like every day theres some bad blood with China.
Is it seriously only for the market?
Like why won’t they go for Vietnam? Like Vietnam is technically SEA geographically but they’re in the same boat as East Asia from my understanding. Plus Vietnam is way way tamer than China on every level. I don’t know a company other than SM (sus since they treat china lines bad) that has food relations with China.
With Hanbin I hope that he’ll help with the breakthrough of Viet Idols the way Nickhun did for Thai (at least that’s what im understanding from 2nd gen, didnt know much bout 2pm).
I can’t help but have a slight dislike about the concept of chinese idols on only 1 basis, politics involving the CCP. That can really hurt their image in Korea and they’re forced to do political shit. it’s completely understandable in Korea why they dislike it when chinese idols support the ccp but it’s expected for every Chinese born Chinese idol, and sometimes HK/Taiwan too considering Jackson/Lai Guanlin did it even though they’re not from China.
So essentially, lets try Viet idols. Rooting for Big Hit’s Hanbin.

How do you know they’re forced to do political shit? Do you have any evidence? It's sick to bring up politics every time when talking about Chinese idols. Why do they need to care about those shallow kpop fans? They are free to express their thoughts.
She looks above the average only, and sometimes looks older than her actual age.
China just follows trends and they are not faithful, they are just a group of individual stan who do not support a group but some members of a certain group. They are those that reinforce competitiveness and make believe that a certain member is more supported than another. the sale of albums does not give the money, it is the tours and CM that you can do.
Fans in which country don't follow trends?
Display MoreBP don't heavily rely on China. Only 200k of their 1M sales for The Album came from China, but I do agree that it's beneficial. It's like how Japan can contribute to sales as well, but people aren't ready for that convo.
Chinese celebs can make MUCH more money in comparison to say, Korea. The top 1% celebs in Korea only make 3.7 million US dollars, while the top 1% celebs in China make at least 44 million. Says alot.
People are always in these types of threads screaming "CHINA BAD CHINA BAD", damn if it doesn't concern you or your faves then don't comment?
And please stop bringing up the West in every thread, we get that you have some Western superiority complex and think that any market aside from that, Japan and Korea are irrelevant and dirty, but no need to make it so obvious.
yes, that why Chinese celebrities rarely would want to leave China
Her MV will break records, will sell physically if she get the opportunity but the charting in Korea won't be good.
She is nowhere as big as Jennie was even in 2018 in Korea and it's ridiculous how none of foreign idols can succeed in Korea. I hope Blinks are prepared for the shock. I will be if I'm proven wrong.
I don't see her really popular in Japan or western countries as well, not sure about China. However, she still has a large fans base.
People shouldn't compare her with Taylor swift, whether u like TW songs or not, she sings, plays instruments, composes, they are different types.
