Be honest. It wasn't good. It was fkng terrible
Why was it fkng terrible?
For sure it does suck, but I’m guessing jype is upfront with them before signing a contract so the idols know what they signed up for. The almost guaranteed success is hard to turn down.
Yes, very upfront. Sign the contract and become an idol or leave
Her choice of song was one of the best possible. I actually don't like the original but it was perfectly suitable for her voice and I actually enjoyed listening to it. It fits her vocal colour, range and current skills
Her choice of partner for the song was perfect too. One one hand Chan's voice was identical with Brendon Urie's, on the other it was someone who is close with Twice so no shipping drama would happen and lastly Tzuyu was exposed to Stays. Though I don't know whether the last one is positive or negative thing (Don't take the last sentence serious. It's a joke)
The MV wasn't anything special but she looked amazing in it and looked like she was genuinely having fun. Every time I watch it it brings a smile to my face. It managed to show more of her character than all the group's MVs, in my opinion.
And lastly Republic Records started doing their job. From what I heard (questionable sourse) they are using Tzuyu's melody project to test the waters whether it is worth investing in these kind of promotions.
Twuwu
She looks stunning in this dress too. And happy :-D
... so pretty that even I as her fan am left speechless
Because they don't want to be associated with those fans.
It's the best title track since Fake and True. That includes their Korean ones
I used to think her styling was OK in the earlier days when she was rocking the tomboy image. it seems like the stylists are struggling with feminizing her image and go into this ugly middle-ground with clothes that are ugly/don’t fit or just unremarkable and awkward haircuts
to be fair to the stylists i’ve noticed jeongyeon herself often wears very baggy clothes lmao she loves a trench coat and layered sweater
Their stylist changed at the beginning of 2019 or the end of 2018 when they started transition toward more mature image so the one styling the tomboy image is different person.
Aren't currently the Japanese CBs shot in Korea and aren't they styled by the same team?
But her styling was awful a lot of the time
Display More1. Japanese market is becoming more and more digital.
2. JYP is treating Japan ONCE like they are all billionairs
3. Covid has made it harder for JP fans to buy albums due to covid measures (yes a fuck yon of Japanese people perfer to go buy stuff in person)
4. They gained over 500k followers on LINE MUSIC in 2020 (Japans main streaming site)
5. Japanese albums tend to cost a liver
And what was your point? That they are losing fans that spend a lot of money on physical merchandise and focus on streaming
That I can remember a member of a group by the colour of their hair.
Twice has gotten a step up in quality this year. Seems like they're trying different things, and it's definitely working!
But the management still sucks. Overlapping CBs in Japan and Korea with no definite market they target. Juggling between Korea, Japan and now the West without focusing on neither of the 3. The CB promotions are still the same as the past years or I could say it is even poorer. The reason Taste of Love felt better promoted is because Republic Records started doing their job.
We should thank Stray Kids fans. They were a big help too
Oops, my mistake. I keep thinking it's July for some reason
Their sales in Japan are skydiving which represents that they are loosing a lot of hardcore fans that spend a lot of money on the group. And let's face it, probably 70% of the groups income came from Japan so going for more western sound may actually lead them in WG footsteps
She looks stunning
