I literally started this with "This is good for kpop group". And it is. Online concerts were not really successful for kpop groups. Costs of online concerts are crazy. Especially when it's high profile group like BP, when luxurious looks are expected. The venue costs are high, half of the money is taken by the platform which is YT in this case or Vlive in other cases. Add to that time of the crew and preparation. The exclusive reveal of that one member unreleased song. The members and team lost about 3 months to prepare for this, and they could have spend it on more profitable activities. People talking about revenue of this event forget that it would have to cover many things.
They must have expected bigger paid audience since illegal streams were watched by thousands of people. The calculations are pretty easy.
Exactly. “Oh well it made more!” Yeah and it was also clearly MUCH more expensive to make than these other concerts, but...okay. I actually do think they might have made a profit, but it did it was clearly not anything significant, and we know it’s a disappointment hence why they took an entire week to confirm the numbers, and it was still not through an official press release.
People can delude themselves all they want, but people with any sense of rationality knew what was up from the get go. They take this obvious underperformance for the company as a personal attack on BP, but this is more has more to do with an accumulation of YG’s poor management skills for them.

1. I knew this would be asked, but I can't find Melon info for 6/10 of these groups, since I don't have the app and no chart accounts track these stats actively besides a TXT one I follow on Twitter.
2. I never thought of taking Genie likes into consideration but that would take another couple of hours.
Genie doesn't really have followers, they have profile likes.
3. I'd rather have a standard divisor for all values than change it to get all final values to a 2- or 3- digit addend.

All I did was point out that the people pretending she is healthy need to quit. She is bloated. Your body, especially your face does not do that in a healthy state only in an inflamed one and she has never been a mindfully healthy member, so a break from moving around all the time along with the anxiety only worsened the inevitable. That’s all I was saying. Maybe people should stop LYING and find other ways to lift her up instead of straight up LYING. However she's a celebrity and kpop is now global hence she's selling to western audience as well. As such, she must be careful of western sensitivities, she's educated to not piss of east asians even with the very minor issues like dating, she needs to educated herself about western ones as long she is in our market
It's like when you travel abroad and need to respect the aspects of the country's culture. She must be not living in Europe, but she's selling her music for europeans hence she needs to respect them

I don't deny the lyrics are quite questionable and disturbing (whether he was trying to be some edgy teen or he had issues). If we are talking about situations based solely on idols having said/acted racist or offensive for example, then yeah it could rank high. But if we were referring to general idol scandals, I'm not sure. Again, not trying to downplay or be dismissive of this situation by saying it's not as scandalous as others. But there have been some pretty heavy and disturbing stuff that's happened in KPOP over the years that I've seen.
That said, I really do hope he takes accountability for this.

Have you read the lyrics....? It is definitely top 10, maybe even top 5. Most idols racist scandals are honestly just ignorance not straight up hate if I’m being honest.

According to the article they got the number from YouTube. Is this number 100% confirmed? No but YG’s silence tells you all you need to know how this went down

Filling five stadiums in one night for an online concert is pretty insane in my opinion.
If people expected 1-2M and got disappointed... well, that's how it is, but our focus should be 'okay, we got this great base of 280K people who bought a ticket, now we need to increase the numbers for next time. What can we do ? What YG can do ? What the Pinks can do ?'
