...exactly? which means that blanket term can apply to a lot of things sm releases? what exactly is this statement meant to disprove? every kpop song is not edm. but edm breakdowns and overall edm songs had a distinct era of popularity in the west and have a distinct place in kpop to this day.
USA have no significant EDM history, while Europe (which also the West) have one since the 90's. There it never became outdated.
