What has gone wrong for Lee Chaeyeon?

  • From one of the most anticipated post-Iz*One debuts to a non-existent debut. Where has Lee Chaeyeon gone?

People thought she would have some decent levels of hype after her SWF appearances (bad press is still press), but has she decided to not debut at all? A lot of Wiz*Ones have hyped her up to be the next Chungha, and some even talked alot about all how she's this underdog that's head and shoulders more talented above other Iz*One members, but it seems like she's content with occassionally posting on her Instagram and taking a big holiday.

At least Minju has her Music Core hosting gig, what is Chaeyeon gonna do? Where did it all go wrong?

    Approved the thread.
  • she was thrown under the bus on SWF. And not in a good way since her forte was dancing.

Her visuals are attached to her sister`s visuals, and we all know Chaeryeong got a lot of hate because of it, from some Itzy fans (not sure if you can call them fans, when the act like haters)

it is a question of time if her famous hair flips were enough to get her back on the track...but i am pretty sure she won`t be a solo artist

  • I blame SWF. Everyone was a bit TOO ready to bully her out the competition which created some bad press for her.

  • Bad press is not good press when all your good reputation is bound up in being an exceptional dancer.

She used to feature in fan lists of best dancers all the time, now she's nowhere. SWF ended up being the worst move possible for her, and I think that some people on that show wanted to use her to make their point that idol dancers can't be compared to professionals.

She needs to get into a new group asap. I'd put her in Baby Monster if I was YG. She was a strong part of IZ and she's in danger of getting forgotten now, it's very unfair.

  • That shitty ass company is what went wrong for her.

I understand that they don't want to debut a new girl group because of RBW or whatever, but not even as a solo?

  • It should be obvious that not the most talented win the race.

Check at how well some of the IZ*One members are doing, and who outperform Eunbi even when Eunbi was 1 of the top talented members in IZ*One.

If even Eunbi, with her impressive strengths in visuals, dance talent and stage presence, is less successful than the less talented IZ*One members in their post-IZ*One endeavours, than Chaeyeon has even less chance of success.

If she's not gonna be a solo artist then what? The company already let all the trainees go, so it won't be a group debut either.

And you already mentioned it, to put it nicely, her visuals don't exactly fit the standards that Koreans look for, so she won't be doing modelling work like Somi, Hyewon or Minju either while she's waiting around, so what's the plan here? I mean she can at least start a YouTube channel like Hyewon and do some contents here and there, maybe like a dance cover series or something, I'm sure plenty of Kpop fans will be interested in that.

  • Honestly, she does not have the it factor. No hate, she's just not that good looking. Like in the bottom handful of female idols.

She is a strong dancer, that's about it. Going on SWF tarnished her reputation a bit unfortunately.

She had the whole underdog thing going for her, but that's never going to be enough to do much more than have a small group of core fans.
