We have come a full circle. Blinks are saying the exact same things Armys used to say about BP when they started performing in the US. It's hilarious that it's ok for them 'to hate on successful women'.
They also forget that two months before their Coachella performance, BP got criticism even from their own fans because their late show performances were totally amateur like and they were bad. But two months later they did way better. They worked on their skills, the crowd helped them and the weed in the air helped some more.
Aespa can do it too. Let them prove themselves.

I remember when Blackpink got invited to Coachella and this site and twitter were in stitches over what a weak festival it is and no-one goes there and how they'd make no noise and perform to a pile of dust. Now I see it's suddenly being presented as a major achievement.

no that's not the reason blinks are annoyed how sm is restoring to mediaplay it's obvious sm pulled some strings so they can perform there they weren't in the lineup only added in the last minute
on naver you'll see how all the searches are making sure aespa is the headlines highlighting the main stage lol Sahara's tent was bigger than other stages and most dj's were at the sahara stage it was a big deal then.

Aespa have given us zero good performances though? Like BP were always fine in Korea, it's just actually performing in person with different camerawork on late night shows that they were bad. Why are you people always inventing new scenarios? Also if you want to believe a Korean girl group with not even a bubbling under and or one appearance on US Spotify can just appear on main stage without some SM cash you are actually delusional...pinning the blame on blinks as though there aren't SM antis everywhere on this forum lol

Are you a new fan? BP were bad during the DDDD comeback performances to the point that even YG commented on it. And they are still awkward and uncoordinated half of the time. They do rely on fierce facial expressions though. And as you said the magical Korean camerawork that hid the imperfections that were obvious when they performed abroad.
Half of the performers there are nugus so they all rely on connections and labels. BP a pretty much unknown artist had their performance shown live on yt and on Times Square. That didn't come cheap for the label either.
And even on the main forum, it was mostly Blinks who were triggered by the news. Funny if you think how much they used to hate Armys' gatekeeping Western promotions back then.

well guess it's blinks turn to experience another company mediaplaying achievements of their group by (indirect) comparing it with another, bigger groups achievement... if armys need to get over yg mediaplaying bp with bts in the beginning of their western popularity, blinks should too.

BP's performances were shown in Times Square because they are signed to a US label (which they were signed to after they charted on BB100) whose literal job is to promote them in America? What are you on about LMAO this has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion
also the fact that I was a casual BP stan back in 2018 who literally lives in NYC and didn't know about the Times Square thing (shows you how much this did for them in the US lol) but an SM stan was that bad in their business

They were performing on tiny stages wearing heels and short dresses during their first trip to America. Of course they were not great? Before and after that, BP had performed at concerts and other shows inside and outside of Korea and delivered good performances. My point is two panned performances that were bad due to inexperience and camera work is not reflective of BP's entire performance history before Coachella...can link you to their Japanese debut or SBS Gayo So Hot performance or perhaps even that thing they did with JYP in 2017 (which they were literally sitting down for so no camerawork needed at all LOL) if you want other testimony that BP were not the horrible pre-Coachella performers you want them to be to fit your narrative based on two late night shows

it's not hate towards aespa but calling out SM for trying to use mediaplay by invalidating blackpink's achievements
they wanted aespa to be the first in something and made it about the stage when it was blackpink the first kpop girl group that performed at Coachella.
no one really cares about main stage let's be real even nugus performed in the main stage now, some stages are better suited for certain artists, Sahara has the biggest stage better production etc. Heck, even madonna performed there in 2015 that will tell you something.

I'm not a blink and not everyone expressing their doubt about the Aespa's Coachella performance is a blink either. In fact, I actually feel like outside of Mys or SM stans, majority of the Kpop community is actually in agreement on this one. It's true Aespa isn't exactly known for their amazing performances so ofc we are going to talk.

Aespa are there because Kanye withdrew last minute and they needed to fill the time. Several acts have been added to main stage for that reason. It can't be compared to Blackpink's experience. If My's had stuck to being excited Blinks would have been more positive.
