    Sm the only company who's both irrelevant in the US but pays off American companies to promote aespa at the same time ugh such duality. So all the artists who are lesser known than aespa must had paid too is what I'm getting correct.

    They don't have to be relevant in US fo someone accepting their money. So yes, it's highly likely most unknown artists are there due to connections amd their labels "getting" that spot. They gotta pay the a-listers somehow

    Nice try, not the same. By the time BP went to coachella they were already a touring and streaming force so their invitation made sense.

    I’m not even a hater but it’s funny that some of you think SM didn’t pay/pull strings for this.


    The thanksgiving day parade was also a big gig in the U.S. for Aespa and there’s absolutely no way they were invited. In fact, performing at Coachella makes even less sense for Aespa given how awkward and underwhelming their U.S. appearances have been so far.

    By the time BP appeared in 2019, they had two BB Hot 100 and 1 Bubbling Under song in the US, had charted twice on the BB200, and were using Coachella as the first stop on their US tour. BP were also, you know, actually announced way ahead of time, performed on both weekends, and listed on the original lineup. The two are NOT the same. The fact that this is anons and you are just assuming it's all blinks as though every non SM stan on the forum cannot blatantly tell this is SM money hard at work is kind of funny. Clearly they saw what Coachella did for BP in the west and wanted the same for their girls, you guys can only hope this isn't as painfully embarrassing as that Macy's Day performance


    Also, FYI, being invited to appear at Coachella is less of an achievement compared to what you actually do there. The real reason blinks hype BP at Coachella so much is the media engagement and crowd energy during BP's set. Coachella very much helped them to grow in the west. Other groups have performed at Coachella too, it just did nothing for them in the long run

    And that's a good thing though.
