that's true, the guys do have more options.
Is kpop's beauty standard too stringent?

I mean, eating ice cubes for a week to lose weight or getting your jaw shaved and nose jobs at 14 is not a standard anyone should accept or aspire to in the slightest.
The fact that these women literally stop having periods because they're so malnourished is utterly crazy to me.
And you can never say anything cos the fans go mental and tie themselves in knots trying to explain how it's so normal for a 24 year old woman of average height to weigh under 50kg. Or its totally just puberty that changed the shape of someone's jaw lol.
There are some huge 4th gen idols that are nothing but pure skin and bones and look so frail it's utterly frightening but there isn't a single scrap of discourse on how it might not actually be healthy to look like that. And 99% it's not genetics, it's an eating disorder caused by the sheer competition and pressure and stress of trying to beat out everyone else to debut, let's be real. If the camera add 10 pounds, imagine how emaciated these girls look irl.
But SK as a society is obsessed with youth and beauty and demands their idols fit every standard so they can push this image of perfection on the global stage as the image of SK.

Sigh…it’s so messed up. I just want to know what gives people the right to say these things to others? I’ve read some comments fans made criticizing how idols look and yikes, they were brutal.
