tomboy is already a national hit

  • A gidle fan calling aespa one hit wonder? Aren't you getting too brave? Gidle isn't even bigger than ive or stayc lol. Ive already 14 weeks top ten on Korean charts, aespa 40 weeks within one year. Gidle two weeks after four years.

Gidle can tour the world anytime. Other groups like IVE cannot. Because they have no songs. Aespa is barely any better btw, like 10 songs INCLUDING two remakes? Come on. It'll come in due time obviously but for now, it's better for people like you to keep quiet.

Plus, It's not like GiDLE only had Tomboy; you can add to the list LATATA and LION at the bare minimum. You know LION? A song listed in the top 50 of best kpop songs of all time by music professionals. It's another kind of flex so I throw it at you since it appears to be the only language you speak. "charts this" "40 weeks that" blah -blah

  • If GIDLE indeed were a digimon, Hwaa should have succeeded against IU's Celebrity.

Doesn't make a lot of sense though. A Charizard isn't born as a Charizard; first it's a Charmander then it evolves to a Charmeleon and only then it can become a Charizard.

So the fact that HWAA fell to IU LAST YEAR doesn't say much; IU is the ultimate final boss anyway.

And OP said nothing about digimon.

Not about OP, but the chatter that TOMBOY blocked IU, is ridiculous.

Jay Park is no big digital charter and IU features most often don't PAK.

So mentioned Hwaa, because it was the time GIDLE actually competed with a proper promoted IU song.

Tomboy is a hit, but foolish comparisons are unnecessary.

  • hate to break it to you but both of those songs are national hits - "lilac" is at 34 on melon daily and "celebrity" ius at 44 melon daily over a year after release, not to mention "celebrity" won SOTY. if those songs aren't national hits then neither are "psycho", "lovesick girls", or any of the other idol songs that kpop fans love passing around as national hits.

lmaooo literally nobody claim Psycho or Lovesick girls as national hit

they are big hits but not national hit, you need to stop throwing this word so easily

  • we are calling anything a national hit these days.

  • It's being played everywhere in SK. It's a national hit

Lol no it's not. How many times is the song being played on variety shows? How many people are covering the dance or song on variety shows? National hit songs actually have actual impact, people actually know the songs. I'm not even an Aespa fan, but old uncles on variety shows actually know Next Level, everyone was covering Chungha's Gotta Go, everyone was covering Twice's Cheer Up. Tomboy is clearly not like that.

  • Just two days ago I think I would have agreed. Funny how your perspective can change. Tomboy is fun for sure, but if they have a national hit Bigbang have a galactic one.

This is why I am tellling all these bandwagoners and people just looking at PAKS. Getting number 1 and pak is all about timing. What determines a big hit song and beyond is the ability to stay on the chart without sliding too quickly. Tomboy is doing a good job at this right now. We just need to see how long. I have a feeling it will do better than Eleven in term of longevity. So chill people. The song is not even 1 month all and you people already declared it a national hit.
