    Why hybe stans deny this is beyond me? Yeah hybe disbanded gfriend because they weren't a top girlgroup. They were flops. Hybe only wants success. I know if yg or sm did the same thing hybe stans would make a huge fuss over it

    Hybe invested a lot of money in Gfriend and made them part of all their official stuff. Sure they're not huge moneymakers but neither are fromis_9 and they were shifted over without issue.


    I'm gonna guess the girls wanted to resign under certain circumstances like, infrequent comebacks, solos, acting jobs (since 3 members are now focused on that) and Source didn't have the money or resources for that, said no and that's why they decided to not renew at all. I can see that would be a shock to the girls, but also people act like Hybe is some supervillain destroying Gfriend for no reason. They clearly saw a future for them based on the last year, they got great songs and budget for their comebacks you don't do that for a failing group you don't want to renew anyway.

    something definitely happened within the company so they decided to break up suddenly. it's not a planned thing at all seeing how they react now.

    GFriend would have disbanded with or without HYBE’s involvement.

    Idk but if all the girls wanted to keep the group they could’ve just debuted together, we’ve seen this happens a million times, the way it was handled was ugly but at least they had some iconic areas under hybe that source music could never have the resources to pull off (I’m talking about MAGO)
