I love the performance video but I also love the MV. However, I can see the mv being too much for some people, but it's definitely one of red velvet's highest budget music videos.
for first impressions, i think it definitely helps that the MV matches the song well. Psycho is a great example, since it could portray the same haunting but beautiful vibe of the song. INVU is another perfect example of this.
FMR MV didn't do it for me, so my first impression of the song was that it was too much and I couldn't get used to it. I only started to appreciate it more after I listened to it without watching the MV.
The MV had some great bits (mostly the art references) but I didn't like the individual sets the girls had. The performance video feels a lot more cohesive and fits the song and concept better IMO.
I liked Mv the only part I found weird just Wendy and strawberry part. 
But Performance video definitely better
