I am so tired of second gen stans saying they paved the way.

  • He was the first act to have a global hit but I don't think he opened the western worlds gate. No one was doing promos on those western shows till bts entered the market. Do u know that bts is not the first act to chart on social 50? 2pm is. But their entry didn't have any impact on other groups but after BTS the chart was by occupied by dozens of kpop acts. Look at BB 200 and companies inviting kpop idols to their shows and signing them under their companies after BTS'S sucess is the biggest evidence I don't get it why do u people still deny it. Compare the kpop of 2016 to that of 2022

No, he didn't, I was being silly when I said that.

There were artists before Psy that had some success over there, but people always ignore or try to deny those artists success. Then again, I don't live in the west so I can only go by the limited information I have seen.

I don't really care tbh, western success doesn't really matter to me, I just find it funny how people always seem to bring it up so I answer with silly answers.

  • 2nd gen paved the way in East Asia and SEA but not other places.

  • they became like this suddenly when blackpink and bts became big. there was a sudden surge of them saying they paved the way for their global popularity. like what

    😂 😂 😂

  • There's a famous saying, something that Isaac Newton said, 'If I have seen further, it's because I stood upon the shoulders of giants.'

And this is 1 of the most renowned, world famous scientists that ever lived, still being humble and acknowledging those that went before him.

Nobody operates in a vacuum. Everyone builds upon the experience, knowledge and achievements of the people that preceded them.

It's wrong of K-pop fans to boast and say that the current gen of successful groups would be nothing without the generations of K-pop groups that went before them.

But it's also wrong for K-pop fans to diss and completely ignore former gens and claim that their successes were meaningless and didn't help K-pop grow for follow-up groups to profit from.

The fact that Isaac Newton used and benefited from all the knowledge past scientists had gathered, something that Isaac acknowledged, takes nothing away from his own achievements and additions to the field of science. One doesn't exclude the other, everything and everyone contributed.
