heavy people have it worse

  • I know I know... some of you may say "go do a diet and in 2 years you are slim" but thats not the problem here ... the problem is furniture ... why the fuck are some items allready breaking when the person using it is not an underweight 12 years old but a grown ass adult with some curves?

I literally hate everything and I'm looking for a new bed now since mine is BROKEN ... it was a cheap 200€ bed anyways ... IDK how much money I have at the bank right now but a new month will come soon and I might buy a new bed than but IDK right now ...

some furniture is just the biggest junk ever, especially IKEA!

Websites and stores should be foreced to test stuff on a long time and than tell you "your to fat, it will break!" if you look for the weight it can hold ... nope many stuff is not putting a weight limit on and so you are not sure if it will break by anyone over 50KG or only if you are very very very heavy ...

Aaaaah seriously ... I bet 1 or 2 user might know what the problem is since you are heavy yourself or know a heavy person ... its frustrating

  • If you're buying Ikea furniture make sure to reinforce it, I had a couple of their items break on me on a small load. I checked online and some of them have weight-bearing loads (They usually range from 25lbs for cabinets and stuff) Not sure about the beds, but if you add extra screws and nails to where the joint is, you spread out that weight and distribute it between each nail.

My curent idea is to go for a metal-frame bed from a website of my country. I read reviews of people on a website for overweight people and I would say 7/10 said they have a metal-frame since the wood-frames were not really lasting and the recomended wood-beds were probably the "married couple sleeps" beds since by the name from IKEA it was not sure if they ment the 1-person or 2-person one and the website of my country has nice metal-frames for under 200€ and even tell you how heavy you as a human can be to lie on it

That's cool, good luck with the bed frame! I believe my old roommate (he was a very heavy dude, but more so due to high height) purchased a metal frame after he broke our dorm room bunk bed twice :itzy1:

I slept in a dorm for 3 years and broke 2 slated wood frames in a bed ... they never understood when I told the owner of the dorm that the frame just broke and thought it can be fixed by just clicking the wood into the plastic ... well someday it did not work and so they gave me a metal one for inside a wood bed and I had my peace but I moved into my first own apartment last year, had not much money and someone else bought me the bed so I had no idea that it will break so fast ... IDK the name of the frame anymore but if you want to know what IKEA-bed I broke search for the MV "So Soobin - Full of you" cause they used the same bed in the MV
