Why weren't nct in the ifpi artist list?

  • They didn't combine the different units. Who knows

  • Because their sales are fake duh i bet they haven't even sold 1 million lol nct fans be like 11 million 11 million like stfu lmao

  • i was surprised too

  • only sm stans add sub units and solo sales to groups. They spread fake narrative nct are the best selling combining 100 releases by 10 groups and this forum bought it. Good that real world doesn't think like that.

it's kind of amazing how brave some nct stans are (even on this site).

NO credible source is gonna add (album) numbers of DIFFERENT groups together?? seriously wake up

that's not how it works & you're only embarrassing yourself going around repeating that nonsense

  • probably because sm didn't submit the info to ifpi, i don't think they did last year

hilarious people are going on and on about fake sales though

  • SM artists are never on the list because they don't report their sales to that list.

Literally no nctzen did that, especially last year where unit wars were at their peak and they were the first to separate each unit achievement. You all just fighting ghosts and creating fake narratives

  • Official charts and award shows never combine sub-units sales and achievements together, that’s why NCT didn’t make it on the chart. Plus, Seventeen was technically the 2nd best selling group last year.

Not counting back catalog, I think nct 127 alone sold like 3.7 or 3.8 millions and nct dream 3.4 millions.

let's stop this childish charade where we pretend nct don't have impressive sales unless we combine all the units.

    Bruh

When did I say they weren’t impressive? I just stated a fact when I said how charts operate, and that Seventeen sold more (which is true, they sold a bit more than both NCT Dream and 127 (approx. 4M+ give it take). nothing against NCT. It’s a you problem if you think NCT sub-units individual sales weren’t impressive.

  • They don’t need to combine units on the data when the data is literally right there on Gaon’s own reporting that has the units separately as top sellers. It’s right here on this very website.

SM never reports their sales to the list. The IFPI list is based on what member labels report in and SM is not affiliated with the IFPI.

People spend a lot of time trying to discredit NCT’s success and concoct conspiracy theories but apparently can’t find this easy to find information.

If you’re actually interested, you can find analysis on the issues with the list here:

  • my faves don’t actually care about charts unlike bts

lmao, literally every idol cares about charts/achievements

some maybe more than others, but it's so funny when kpop stans say this & they are truly convinced too

almost all idols cry when they finally get their first music show win/ daesang/.. but sure, your idols don't care

  • Nct does not. They only care about music

  • what is the criteria?

it is really odd since they are the longest charting group in 2021 in billboard 200

  • it's simple, sm didn't submit their numbers

  • Not counting back catalog, I think nct 127 alone sold like 3.7 or 3.8 millions and nct dream 3.4 millions.

Ifpi counts sales not shipments. Look at their hanteo sales.

Seventeen barely made it at 9. They outsold both nct units on gaon and hanteo. Why were you expecting nct at all? If they had sold as much as they sold with all units combined only then you should have expected nct to be on the list.

The criteria is weird as hell. They fully count Chinese sales for some artists, but weigh them for others and they completely leave off a lot of groups because those labels don't report to them.

Basically just like all charts, they're horribly flawed. Like Seventeen wasn't counted last year despite selling just as well in 2020 as they did in 2021 because Pledis didn't report their sales. SM also doesn't report sales. Neither do several Japanese artists who should be included.

  • Ifpi is a revenue based chart so it’s not just numbers but more about how much an artiste sold and earned. I think Seventeen would have naturally made it over nct because their Japanese sales were insane. And we know Japan sales are way more expensive than the rest of the top 5 markets.

  • How do you know all that hybe and sm did not report?

Do you work in SM or Hybe to know that?

  • Wasn't this an artist chart and not an album chart? That means they counted everything and not just sales of the last album. So albums sales, back catalogue sales, digital sales and finally streams. With this in mind, it makes sense that svt made it and not nct. Remember also that japanese sales and streams are weighted much more and svt obviously outdoes nct by a mile there.

I'm sure nct will make it to the album chart instead. Last year blackpink made it there but not on the artist chart.

They are coping with sm did not send nct sales and china sales are discounted lmfao. As if sm out of all who take credit of others will not send info so they can mediaplay with it. They didn't send info because they knew nct didn't have a chance.

Imagine if nct is on album chart. It will be damn funny cause that would mean sm did send info. Nctzens narrative will be proven false just like their all other narratives.

Nct sales are impressive but you called them best selling of last year which is false. Don't spread fake narrative if you don't like people telling you the truth. Nctzens should stop spreading fake information to not get their faves bashed.

  • I how they duked this list when nct sold 11 million in 2021.
