Moral of the story:

Enjoy songs and specific pieces of music. Not groups or celebrities.

Because they will change, the music will change, our own tastes will change. So what is the point in getting emotionally invested in something that is bound to change, and without the reciprocal investment - as in the case of friends, family, community, nation etc.

It is either un-stanning or persisting with it at an emotional cost - dissonance, delusion etc.
