War in Ukraine in a week?

  • I'm still wondering what are people's definition of sovereignty.

Like?? if a country you don't control goes against you, then most you can do is to start economically battling them; if they don't like/support you then its their choice. You can make deals, compromise, threaten, etc. but it makes no sense to invade unless its critically harmful to your country, i.e. their decision will crumble your country, or you are directly under attack from them.

when you disregard sovereignty, then start sending in the tanks but like ugh.

  • I'm not a US fan at all but it's so worrying how many people here are parroting war propaganda from other sources without critical reflection. You can question US politics, but Russia is 100% telling the truth about their motives?

they're essentially claiming they don't "want" to attack but alas, sadly they "don't have a choice" because the evil opposing powers are making their own moves, oh what a shame. Seriously guys, this is invasion tactics 101. Gotta sell it to your own folks, oh we just did it bc they had weapons, oh we just did it to protect our people from the evil XY, etc. The US does this too, sure, but how can you recognise it with them but not your own countries? they're all the same.

Yes all sides are the same. All guilty in a war and the truth is the first to go.

The rhetoric right now is that Russia will attack. If people buy this narrative the info war succeded.

    China/Taiwan?

    Sovereignty is subjective it seems

  • so where are the users who told us it's only US/UK wanting to go to war?

oh wait I forgot Russia was "forced" to attack Ukraine bc of whatever nebulous reasons they cooked up. Tale as old as time.
