Interesting route for jype groups

    twice were pretty different from snsd

    itzy are also not very similar to bp, although i kinda see how jyp used the girl crush hype to build momentum for them

    nmixx... i don't want to comment since they're still pre-debut but i feel like jyp saw the potential that storylines and world-building have and decided to milk the concept even more by creating their own universe


    i don't really look at these groups as "an answer to X group". jyp is just hopping on the trend train. they see something that works and they try to do the same

    Bit of a no-brainer. Isnt it obvious?


    TWICE was created by JYP people trying to copy - oh, sorry, get 'inspired' by - SNSD. No other 3rd gen group resembled SNSD as closely as TWICE did and JYP wasnt ashamed of it (in contrast with the fans).


    ITZY was created by JYP people trying to copy - oh, sorry, get 'inspired' by - Blackpink. Blackpink showed how successful girl crush can be globally, so JYP came up with their own version of it.


    NMIXX are created by JYP people it seems trying to copy - starting to see the pattern here?



    Also JYP isnt unique in this, many companies look at other successful companies and try to learn lessons from it and try and adopt things from those successful companies and groups in hopes it will work for them too.

    These companies are there to make money. They look at what the market is doing and move appropriately. This is why there are currently no super cute gg's and no sexy gg's. It's mostly variations on girl crush still because that's what fans are responding to. It's weird to me that stans can get so defensive about this stuff.

    The absolute cringe in this thread before nmixx has even debuted and comparing their faves to nmixx :pepeshock:

    They are just following a trend. Though I’d say nmixx is the answer to both bp and aespa. They were being planned before aespa even blew up.


    You can tell they got the inspo from other groups, BUT their groups are very unique themselves. You cannot say twice is a copy of snsd, and you can’t say Itzy or mmixx is a copy of bp or aespa


    It’s what ya gotta do to stay on top, stay with the trend but add something of your own to it.

    This new gg of jyp reminds me a lot of loona.

    I loved their concept I'm kind of excited for their debut.. And their new division looks promising too.

    Twice and SNSD.

    That’s very obvious from the beginning. Jyp pretty much straight up copied the SNSD formula, style (early cute concepts) and even took heavy inspiration from concepts SNSD had done.


    Itzy and Blackpink

    Not really. Itzy arent as edgy as BP and their songs aren’t as empowering as BP. The only thing they have is girl crush. I’d say Itzy are closer to fx.


    Nmixx and Aespa.

    We’ll see how this goes but the only thing they have so far is the lore thing and Loona did it earlier. Aespa is much larger in scale (dragging older groups into kwangya for some reason).
