No. After BP performed at Coachella in 2019, their popularity skyrocketed. Blackpink was already really popular with D4 being released in 2018. Twice had a large fanbase too and they were continually gaining fans in 2019.

Sales back in 2019 were not as high as they are now. A lot of people bulk buy now. Even though aespa sold over 500k with their mini album, it doesn't mean that 500k+ people bought their album.

Itzy and aespa do have a large fanbase now. I think BP and Twices' at that time were a lot larger.

I don't think so. Twice's fandom has always been big and their comebacks did pretty well that year. So did Blackpink's.

I think you're referencing the "volume." Your fandom can be HUGE like these two groups but they don't have to be loud to be recognized as being a large fandom.

I think that aespa and Itzy's fandoms still have a long way to go in size but I do think that they probably have some of the biggest fandoms of 4th gen rn.
