So every year since 2010 the Gaon releases a year-end chart for most successful Digital Releases (aka songs). Obviously releasing a song earlier in the year greatly increases its chances of doing better because it will have more time to accrue points, so this is no exact science but anyways, without further ado:
- SM artists have made the top 10 on the Gaon Year-End digital chart seven times. SNSD 2 times, EXO/f(x)/Taeyeon/Red Velvet/aespa all did it 1 time.
- JYP artists have made the top 10 five times, Twice with 2 times, miss A/Wonder Girls/Changmin from 2AM all 1 time (miss A finished #11 twice though, and Itzy also finished #11 in 2019).
-YG artists have made the top 10 nineteen(!) times, Big Bang with 6 times, 2NE1 4 times, AKMU 3 times, PSY 2 times, Winner/Blackpink/iKon/Taeyang 1 time each. G-Dragon also featured on IU’s Palette which made the top 10 in 2017, so if you want to count that as a YG release then I guess you can (they have by far the most anyways), but it’s clearly just a feature and not his song so I didn't.
- Big Hit/HYBE has only made the top 10 three times, which isn't that surprising as they've only been contenders since 2017 really, since that's when BTS blew-up with the GP and they have way fewer artists than the other three. You could argue they have four if you count Zico's Any Song, but that was released before HYBE bought KoZ but by the time the year-end chart had come around HYBE did own them. But imo it wasn't a HYBE release so I don't consider it one.
- The idol groups who've finished #1 on the Gaon year-end chart are: Miss A (2010), T-ara (2011), Big Bang (2015), Twice (2016), iKon (2018)
- The only idol soloists to finish at #1 are Soyou (albeit with a duet) in 2014 and Zico in 2020.
- Psy is the only artist (solo or group) to finish at #1 more than once, he was first in 2012 and 2013 (IU has finished at #2 twice and #1 once, usually because she releases songs too late in the year).
- IU has the most top 10 entries with 11. 2nd place is Big Bang with 6.
-Big Bang is the only group to have 3 in the top 10 in any one year, when they had 3 of the top 4 in 2015, which is just ridiculous. IU is the only soloist to have 3 in the top 10, she had 3 of the top 10 in 2014 (at spots 5/7/10)
