why are fans are obssessed in making achievements confined in their faves company?

  • is it because they cannot make up achievements when they compare outside of their faves company?

i always see a lot of achievements (except bp and bts) confined as “fastest group in xxx company….”

the fake achievements bragging game is strong.

  • And this is of course about treasure. Tell us more.

  • seems like i see this more in sm groups? or am i wrong?

  • I have seen that kind of "records" made up only by jyp stans. "Skz is the first 4th gen million seller among boy groups in jyp" yes because they're the first and only 4th gen bg in jyp??

Well, they are actually the first million seller overall. Not saying It's an achievement, just clarifying.

That's awesome, it's just that I have seen it phrased that way somewhere where it made me think that there are other million sellers too but skz is the first 4th gen in jyp

  • Yes I think they do that just so they can have some achievements outside BTS and bp. Or maybe just to keep the company family thing going? I see those types of qualifiers with sm.

I've seen a popular youtube channel that makes videos only about big 3. So it has videos like Most viewed mvs in big 3, highest album sales in big 3 and so on and so forth. It seems like they want to keep the good old days where big 3 were what mattered.

  • Honestly though. I don't think bts, bp, or exo had the phrase "first 3rd gen kpop group to...." BP just had first girl group but that was it. I even get annoyed when people say first 4th gen kpop group to... Like hello? 4th gen had the advantage of debuting when kpop was global and kpop itself is more popular than 3rd gen but they still can't beat top 3rd gen groups. Forget bts or bp. I have yet to see a group apart from aespa that is at wanna ones level. Not to mention twice and exo. Like, you think 3rd gen waited until second gen was over? Exo became the biggest group around 2015 when big bang was very much active. BTS became the biggest group at the end of 2017 when exo was still huge. BTS nor EXO waited for their competition to die down like people are waiting with 4th gen.

With company achievements I think people use this for sm and jyp. Like most album sales for jyp or sm or most viewed for jyp or sm. This is probably since they can't compete with bts or bp who belong to yg or hybe.

The generation is just starting (scratch everyone who says it began in 2018, the start should be 2020) so let's give it some time. The top 3rd gen groups showed up years after the generation began, the biggest girl group bp debuted 5-6 years after the beginning

  • It's the same reason why some chart accounts use 4th gen tag instead of overall, to make the "achievements" look way better

  • Why are people so pressed about fans hyping up any achievement?

Are you not allowed to celebrate getting into Harvard coz you didn't get a scholarship?

Are you not allowed to be happy about getting Employee of the month in Feb coz someone got it in Jan?

Are you not allowed to be happy about being in the top 10 best young players of a particular sport in a particular league because you aren't Jordan or Messi?

There's nothing wrong with people hyping up their faves.

The only times where it becomes obnoxious is when it's done to drag other groups, or when it is a categorical statement without measurable proof. E.g. X group is the "best" group. Rather, it should be X group is my fave group, or X group has the best album sales amongst these groups, or I love listening to the vocals from X group etc.

If you look at it like that you do have a point. I was under the assumption that it began in 2018 so it's been 3 years and there aren't any groups that even show potential of overtaking bts or blackpink (even aespa, they could overtake twice in a year or two but I doubt they could overtake blackpink). 3rd gen began in 2012 so by 2015 exo was kinda there but I guess bts nor blackpink really became a thing until 2016. I guess in another couple years we'll see.

  • There's nothing wrong with bringing up achievements and being happy among likeminded people. That's just being happy and celebrating. It's only bad when you bring it up to say your favorites are better than some other people's favorites.
