What is up with Mafia AU fanfics?

    Like why is that a thing?


    Also, when looking for kpop fanfics, I often come across those things.

    Like fanfics with titles like "When your mafia boss boyfriend finds out your pregnant" and "When you find out your crush is in a mafia gang" (I just made these two titles up, but...)


    And well... I seldom read these kind of fanfics.


    I do remember reading a fanfic that had this typical mysterious and cold guy and then it the second half the main character finds out he is in a mafia gang.

    No idea why that’s a thing. I would blame it on some Itzy Mafia fever, except those fanfics existed long before then. I never read those stories either. They don’t appeal to me. Too dark and yet, somehow, too predictable 99% of the time. A lot of those fanfics, especially if they are written on Wattpad also have way too many red flags and toxic relationships for me to even keep track of, much less read through. There must be a market for it though or people wouldn’t read it and authors would write about other things instead. Have a great day/night!

    I read a bit of mafia au (not kpop related) and it was so dumb, I couldn't even finish

    I honestly hope people who write this don't think mafia works that way :pepefacepalm:

    if I think of some crimes comitted by mafia in 90's in my country, it's the most disgusting vile stuff you can possibly imagine
