Thoughts on Dispatch Couples

  • I don't care either, never have. I'm not one who hangs out for the news of the next couple. Imo, some fans are too obsessed with that sort of thing and if it's a popular idol they never get any respite from it. Good luck if they have found a couple dating, it's their business - let them get on with it. Fans need to focus on something other than whether their idol has a gf/bf or not and enjoy K pop for what it is.

I’m glad that we’re similar in this regard at least. I know, I feel so bad for the idols. They have to deal with so much, and then this on top of everything else? I completely agree with everything you said. HaPpY new year and have a great day/night!

  • I think for the most part people just tune in for the lol of it or at least for the majority who don't schedule their day to lead up to the reveal. Kind of pity those who obsessively await the news to either fawn over the prospect of two idols loving about or release their whole artillery of the likes of sewer rat and garbage fish to the unfortunate party.

I don't really care for it but admittedly, I would click on a thread about it immediately. However, I would like to think that I would be indifferent about it. I couldn't care less about whether my bias is fucking the whole industry or if they want to lead a life of abstinence.

(Though you can always count on me being there to see the fans melt down :peperun: )

I didn't think about that. That makes sense. I'd pity those fools too. Life is more than just waiting to see who dates who. As much as I hate to admit it, so would I. I just know curiosity would get the better of me. Same here. It's their life, they can live it how they want to as long as it is legal, and everyone involved is safe and happy with what is being done. Oh yes, watching those fans freak out is entertaining. The fans that get angry when their bias dates are being unrealistic and unreasonable, but also hilarious. HaPpY new year and have a great day/night!

  • Yeah i dont know how people say they are excited for the reveals knowing its going to be a breach if privacy of some artists

Neither do I. Maybe they figure their curiosity and personal entertainment is more important than the idol's privacy? It's very odd.

We're not getting a couple this year. Dispatch usually reveals couples in the morning so

No offense to anyone who likes the Dispatch couples but thank goodness. Less privacy invaded and revealed in. Maybe it's because of Covid. They can't get close enough in person to spy on the idols and security cameras probably only help in certain places, so they didn't do it. That or they found a couple, but both people were not popular so they scrapped revealing it, figuring no one would know or care who they are.

    looks to be so.

I can sleep easy tonight at least. HaPpY new year and have a great day/night!

They probably didn't release anything because of all the backlash they got last year after Yeonwoo/Lee Minho. Good tbh

  • Not a fan. I feel like the dispatch reveal will just cause a ton of them to break up anyway :cryingr: And there's always "Oh s/he is WAY out of their league" comments that drive me mad

I also feel if idols are just casually hooking up, they will feel the need to say they are dating if exposed. I know some thought that was the case with Jenkai.

There are definitely couples that break up or at least pretend they have broken up when exposed too.

  • Thank you to everyone who participated in this thread. I actually learned a lot from it that I didn't know before or hadn't considered. For example, some people know it's bad, but figure since there is nothing, they can do about it, they might as well enjoy it. I did not approach it from that perspective before. That was my bad for not thinking of that. Other people don't actively seek it out but might click on stuff related to it out of curiosity. I almost feel bad for making this post now in case someone felt guilty for enjoying it. Just to clarify, if you enjoy that news, I don't think less of you, nor will I villainize you for it in any way. It would be hypocritical at best if I did that. K-Pop has plenty of dark sides to it, yet we all still keep up with it. I think that is all for now. Have a gret day/night!
