i literally see everyone saying giselle is the best sm female rapper.
before i start, this aint a hate post. giselle raps fine but shes pretty on par with the other sm female rappers. but ppl make it seem like shes the next soyeon or something and shes like eons better than all the other sm female rappers.
she raps fine in their songs. she says the words on beat and sounds fine. her voice is kinda on the deeper side which is nice because i love soyeon but sometimes her voice is rlly squeaky when shes rapping which kinda annoys me.. but the thing is all the other sm female idols also have that. none of them have annoying tones and none of them are off beat. so what exactly sets giselle apart that everyone keeps saying shes the best female rapper from sm?

am i the only one who thought this was average? like i rmbr the way mys were hyping it, i expected it to be fire but like it was average. if im going to be a more intensive review, i feel like she tried to copy the flow of both the og artists which is fine, thats what most idol rappers do anyways, but she didnt really do a good job. the beginning part was doja's and she didnt do a bad job, but it was a slow part and the thing about slow raps is that you can hear every word and so you need to really have the confidence to be pulling off the things you're saying, but she just seemed kinda awkward. then she goes into rico's part. she tried to copy rico's flow but she failed. miserably. this might come off as harsh but i am a HUGE rico fan and the reason is she raps really agressively. listen to any rico song and you'll know what im talking about. tia tamera is rico toned down and she still goes super hard. i feel like giselle tried to show that kinda agressiveness but sh fell short by a lot. some of her line delivery is pretty bad too, most notably the "I just made a 100k in 2 weeks." overall, its not bad. for an idol rapper, its pretty average. the major negative to this is she tried to copy the og artists' flow and both of them are really hard to copy and so she fell short but for an idol rapper, its not bad. but i just dont see what about this performance makes her "the best female rapper of sm" because most of the other female sm rappers could probably preform at the same level. not even just the other sm rappers but literally any random girl you find in the streets of L.A.
then we have this cover. once again, not bad. but like, once again, she tried to copy the og artist flow and fell short. ill give her the benefit of the doubt though because kendrick's flow is really pretty hard to copy so like she did a decent job. but nothing here either to make her the "best sm female rapper" because she didn't do anything that the other girls couldn't do as well.
then we have this cover. guys... this is sm best female rapper? now mys have said that she couldn't hear the backtrack so ill give her the benefit of the doubt again but this is pretty embarrassing. i dont even need to tell you why. im so shocked by the people hyping her up in the comment section bc shes so offbeat, but as i said again, people said she couldnt hear the beat, but even then, as a "rapper," shouldn't you be able to keep some sort of beat on your own? but again, i wont hold her too accountable to this cover because she couldnt hear the beat.
finally this:
so in the first two covers, i honestly think her downfall was just trying to copy rappers who are famous for their unique flows and approach to their raps. the third one was audio issues. but this is giselle, no audio issues, her own rap, her own skills. its fine. if im going to be completely honest, its kinda cringy. like... idk i didnt really vibe with it. maybe just a personal opinion but the lyrics were kinda lame, i feel like if u make just about anybody sit down and write a rap song, they could come up with something similar(no wordplay or rhymes worth noting). the flow was kinda cringy to me, like idk. maybe just not my vibe? but like i was okay with it, its okay for an idol rapper.
overall, i dont think she sucks or cant rap or anything. i acknowledge that she has a nice voice for rapping and she does well in their songs. but she literally has nothing that makes her the "best female rapper of sm." like idk where ppl are getting that from. i feel like giselle was just thrown into this role like how karina is the dancer of the group. theyre not bad and do well in their songs, but both being a dancer and a rapper requires a far greater skillset that i havent seen from either of them. maybe giselle will improve. shes a very solid idol rapper but as of rn, i dont see why she's the "best female rapper from sm." its honestly kinda insulting to sm and the other sm girl idols because giselle really hasnt shown anything special.
