Baekhyun’s sales came from China where superm was never targeted. He didn’t see any drastic increase in streams or views on international platforms. Nor anything major on the billboard charts.
Baekhyun has a dedicated Korean and Chinese fanbase who support him. The enlistment and decreased interest in exo because of it boosted his performance. Not superm.

Their second album sold 550k+ ^
I was talking about their debut, i honestly didn't even know they released another album. But I'm surprised it sold that much. I guess exo-ls did buy the album for beck and kai or was it more of nct fans who bought it. Genuinely curious since I remember exo-ls hated superm if at the end they still decided to support it.
At the end of the day I still don't think superm promoted nct that much. Maybe brought slight awareness but I remember nct really doing good after kick it was released. I don't think their growth had much to do with nct (I could be wrong since I don't follow sm groups apart from tvxq and shinee).

I feel like the narrative that it was made to promote NCT was born because NCTzens were really the only fans supporting the group. I was a SM anti back then and I remember NCTzens were out there defending Taemin, Baekhyun, and Kai from their own damn fans as well as antis.
Also NCT was already being promoted in the US so idk what the hell SuperM was supposed to do there that NCT 127 wasn't already doing.
