That is true. I recollect from 2016, when she was not active, many of her team were considering other options and she asked them to stay on, paying even when was not active.

So unlike with other companies with multiple revenue streams, she and now SSK is the income generator for EDAM, even they might not mingle revenues.

She might have to keep at least a decent level of activity, even with passive income from royalty streams etc.

And I don't see an issue with this, it is a CF presented as though it is a song release. Others have done that and even she did so in her early days, if I remember right. Even a sort of short-drama with Im Siwan for a Samsung CF.

To be clear even if its a full song and the worry is that it would somehow dilute her artistic integrity or something i think most people see the difference between "IU Songs" and stuff like this. I doubt it will even chart very high. Look at the ILand song, it didnt really perform like her usual songs and the only thing she ever posted about it was like one instagram story on the same day as the show aired ircc.

Actually, I bet that most koreans who listened to I-Land don't even know about the existance of the tv show

On the other hand, the average I-Land tv rating was 0.5 %
