What's your genuine opinion about Snowdrop?

  • If you've watched it?

I personally liked it. Jisoo's character is kinda funny and cute. The production is also good.

But bc there's so much controversy over this drama that I can't fully enjoy it. The internet acts like this show is the worst thing ever, like if someone enjoys the drama, they're probably ignorant or blind fans. I'm even making this thread in the anons bc people might think I'm ignorant for supporting this drama.

Anyways, what's your take on this drama?

    Approved the thread.
  • bad vocalization her voice very nasally

  • No idea. As much as I'd like to support Jisoo this is nowhere close to the kind of drama I enjoy. Not even Jisoo can get me to watch this. I'll probably check some compilations to see how she did as an actress. Too bad about the controversy though. She should have chosen a basic romcom or crime drama for her debut.

  • I no more enjoy watching kdramas. If you've some good suggestions please reply.

  • it's funny seeing blinks defend it so hard on twitter, bc they're digging jisoo into a deeper hole since knetz are looking at their comments.

the drama itself has high production value, but jisoo can't act and her voice sounds like her throat is full of mucus. idk why they picked her over a real actress.

  • I liked it. She is a good actress taking in consideration that this is her first work.

The story tho is a bit missing, I can't keep up really well with the political part of the drama. Hope I'll understand it better as the eps keep going.

In the end the drama is enjoyable and I think I'll keep watching it till the end.

About other people opinions, I don't care. I'll enjoy the drama anyways and you also should not give a fk about what everyone says.

No hate but I kinda agree her voice sounds awful while delivering dialogue.(I only watched a small clip on twt).

  • Seems like they want to create another genre of DOTS but choose the wrong background story. It will be less controversial if they choose to create their own background story, not using historical one. And the storyline seems predictable like a typical romance story. If it's not for jisoo's hype, that drama will be long gone i guess

I disagree. Jisoo would be one of the main reasons the show would be axed since the reason the issue is blowing up so much is because antis are jumping on the bandwagon of real people who are upset and making it a bigger deal on stan Twitter. There are much bigger Korean stars in the drama than Jisoo

  • With how much Blinks have been defending it, one would think that Jisoo wrote and directed it.

It was a bad career move and it's crazy they can't see it.

yes and no. there are dramas which got cancelled and end up not broadcasted. One of it is Joseon Exorcist, it was cancelled with a bit similar reason which is related to using historical background and the general public think it ruined the history and SK image. The drama shutted down after the public signed the petitions.

sure that theres antis fuel the issue, but the wrong choice on background story in the first place ruin the drama. If they want to take the 1987 era so bad, they could've choose different genre like reply 88 or taxi driver. They can add the romance in it without messing up with the history line

I didn't say the historical issue isn't a problem, I just disagree with your point that it's only not been cancelled because Jisoo is the lead. Why would she make the show any less likely to be canceled? The fact that Jisoo is the lead has sensationalized the issue even more. JE had even worse public reception in SK but I didn't see 4 threads in anons and 5 threads on the main forum about it

    Simple: It's all about money.

Reasons why JE's issue wasn't really blow up or have endless trending threads: Fanbase of each actors are mostly only locals as well as the target audience (no stars in the drama who have international fans that could attract global interest in the drama). They're lose to the petition as they got no defense from public, fanbase and low enthusiasm (which probably made the income won't even surpass the expenses anyway, it's not worth to continue), so cancelled the drama was the better choice.

While snowdrop, they got strong fanbase and defend, the amount of hype and enthusiasm around this drama is big because it's jisoo's debut. So they probably still can get money from that by targetting global market, since most of international fans will still watch it anyway no matter how much controversy and endless forum threads talk about it.
