Why is there such a huge gap in the spotify streams of loco and savage?

  • by this rate, I think some of you really have a kink of calling aespa local group

  • Itzy are more popular outside of Korea, simple as that.

  • I’m sure there’s a huge gap between Next Level and Savage too. The truth is, Savage is not the kind of song with huge replay value.

  • SM music is not appealing to casual listeners.

  • I like both songs but Loco has more international appeal, so do Itzy as a group. I guess we're heading into a shadow of the Twice/Blackpink dynamic. Aespa take SK, possibly also China in this case, Itzy everywhere else.

  • Both are bad songs but savage is unlistenable screaming so it is worse that's why it has very less streams. Who wants to hear those screams again and again?

  • SM music is not appealing to casual listeners.

If that were the case, so many songs of SM groups wouldn't chart as high as they do on the Korean charts.

The past 1-2 years the songs of SM artists and groups seem to chart better than other Big 4 groups, with the exception of BTS and BP.

  • Even though Next level and Savage are huge in Korea they are not that popular among international kpop fans. Itzy still does better in that regard.

  • SM can only buy popularity in Korea. Which is literally meaningless everywhere else.

  • Very easy

Most of Aespa songs are cringe to listen to as an international fan, I can’t even play Aespa songs in my room without my roommate telling me turn off the trash song

Koreans just seem to be in Kwangya right now because outside Koreans, the other countries aren’t eating it up

Aespa curently is the 3rd highest group in global digital chart below only bts and lisa.

    Which chart is that?

Nevertheless, it’s cringe. A lot of people that I have played Aespa songs couldn’t believe their ears maybe because they are not Kpop fans . All I know is Aespa songs are not the type people will actually listen to on their own

Global digital charts which combined spotify, youtube, shazam, deezer and apple music points.

For you maybe. But for others they seems to like aespa songs, the charts performance says so.

  • highly experimental song vs generic song

  • however, aespa seems to be doing better in term of their b-sides

YouTube Korea, Spotify Korea and Apple Music Korea, they are leading there , that’s what contributes to the their high points. Korea influences a lot . The Korean market carries a big percentage except your international fanbase and Korean fanbase is big like Bts and Blackpink , the international streams can’t beat the Korea demographic

Do you think korea can carries aespa point alone lol.

anyway, you should compare with other group beside bts and bp. They also got their streaming from Asia countries. Why pointing fingers only at aespa?

  • How much is the difference between itzy and aespa bside performance?

not really sure about itzy, but aespa b-sides number are very consistent and close to each other number, all surpassed 7m+ ( only 1 with 6m)

  • Yes aespa is Korean group. Just like itzy, they are kpop group but why can’t doing well in their own cou try? Lol

  • the gap isn't huge. Loco came out a month earlier than Savage and the gap is 20M. That's not huge. besides, Aespa's bsides have better streams in average. Aespa have an average of 16.7 M stream per song and Itzy have an average of 12.6 M stream per song, not even counting the instrumentals which would bring the average lower to 8M. So it would seem like people are listening to Aespa more often than Itzy despite the latter's leading single having more streams.

As a MYMidzy it's simple savage goes hard in last chorus and a lot people don't like it (I do) and loco is more easily digestible but Savage EP has way better b sides than CIL album idk seems jyp put hella fillers.

  • loco is even more liked in youtube even if it has lower views. hmmm. ads cannot buy likes

  • loco is even more liked in youtube even if it has lower views. hmmm. ads cannot buy likes

The way you made it seem like itzy had vastly more likes than aespa lol I check loco 3.1mil Savage 2.9mil my guy it's such a negligible difference y'all aespa antis have 0 logic guess SM bought all those albums and streams that surpassed itzy.

  • Aespa are doing fine on spotify. There's a couple points, savage I felt like rode on next level's success but wasn't a hit of it's own. I think dreams come true is shaping to be a pretty decent hit but I don't think it will reach next level's success. Once Aespa have another huge hit, it will really secure their korean top gg spot. As for international, let's be real, no group apart from bts and bp is doing much. Like, why bother about international achievements if it's not really going to make a big difference to your stats anyway. Itzy are the biggest 4th gen kpop group in the west, fine. But they are also only big within the niche that is kpop. They have yet to break out of it and until they do, I don't think it's really going to make a huge difference. Someone commented this and I agree with it. The reason aespa are third worldwide is due to their korean stats. So if korea in itself is enough to beat out the rest of the world fans, do they really have a lot of fans internationally. Why brag about stats internationally if it's just not doing a lot for your career. Even twice and seventeen have better international stats than itzy and they aren't considered big internationally. So how come people are making such a big deal over 4th gen stats internationally when it can't even compare against twice who are bigger than any 4th gen group internationally.

  • It's because at that time ITZY came after their hugely successful, VIRAL HIT that served extreme longevity on the charts, 'In The Morning' - the public and fans were perched to see what they do next. Meanwhile AESPA had previously released a song that gathered mixed to bad reactions that kinda killed off the anticipation for new music as it was seen as a strange departure from previous releases.

    Oh wait... :teeheek::sketchyk:

I think that the statement of “savage is riding on NL success” is only half the truth… considering it is still doing so damn well and have great longevity on kchart and kspotify by its own, the teaser pic alone is captivating enough to attract the audience and that plus NL success plus it is from aespa. That is what part of savage success is formed

  • Aespa are doing fine on spotify. There's a couple points, savage I felt like rode on next level's success but wasn't a hit of it's own.

nah, simply because next level is more public friendly than savage especially the last chorus and majority of people not like it

Except bts and bp other groups are really dependent on their song wheteher is public friendly or not. So if someday SM decided to give aespa more public friendly song, i bet the streams will be doing numbers. It's in the hands of SM really.

Mitm did way better than next level on spotify. Koreans panned mitm a reason loco is one if the biggest flops ever by a big 3 girl group in Korea.

Loco was no success on Korean charts, but it was far from the worst in chart performance. I mean, TWICE's Scientist did far worse by comparison.

  • they have only been 1 year into the game. im sure their spotify streams will increase and match their popularity soon.

  • the gap isn't huge. Loco came out a month earlier than Savage and the gap is 20M. That's not huge. besides, Aespa's bsides have better streams in average. Now that’s a lie , Loco came out 11 days earlier ( not even up to two weeks ) not a month above savage. Just accept loco is more liked internationally. There’s no other definition that you are trying to bring here if any thing your explanation just made it worse , you tried to belittle itzy but ended up proving a point, if people can listen Aespa bsides more than itzy, savage should be able to pull more streams shows people don’t like the song like that

I got curious and looked it up, this is what I saw:

ITZY - LOCO (release date Sep 24): 137M views, 3.1M likes

Aespa - Savage (release date Oct 5): 156M views, 2.9M likes

Seriously, wtf... are you really going to make a big deal out of a 200k difference in LIKES?! Seriously?! What the hell, what is wrong with you people.
