As late as 1946, Major League Baseball was segregated so blacks could not play .
So they had a league of their own, the N____ (the full word is not allowed at akp) League.
In 2020, the organizers of MLB decided to include records from the N____ League as part of its own. Which made Josh Gibson, the N____ League's biggest star, the last hitter to hit .400. (He died shortly before segregation ended.) Josh Gibson, despite of not spending a single day in the Major Leagues, was inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.
I was not aware of it till recently, so that leads to an interesting question - should we include the records of the domesticists of Korean Pop into the record of the worldwide Pop?
There appears to be no disagreement about including IU into the records of Pop, because, although she is still domestic, she is in the spotify Kpop ranking so is included.
However, the Korean acts which do hip hop, trot, etc are not included in the pop since foreigners do not listen to such music.
This is not an argument about "although IU is not part of the Pop, the Grammys, etc, should recognize her contribution for the advancement of Pop because she influenced Kpop a lot". It is a question about whether to incorporate Korean Pop into the general structure of Pop, or not.
