NCT and Aespa are never going to become popular in the west unless they drastically change their sound and image

    ohh NCT and Aespa, they may have unique sounding music but they give too many ''robotic heavily manufactured'' vibes plus the disjointed construction noise and weird nonsense lyrics, the west will never give them the time of day since they basically go against anything that appeals to the west, Red Velvet's Psycho and Bad Boy or EXO's call me baby and Love shot are by far the biggest shot they had at having a image and sound that could appeal to the west... But maybe the west is not their focus that's the only explanation.

    I like their sound. I don't want them to change it for western appeal. For me, music I like >> bragging rights.


    But if they want to change it for more money, well, it's their choice, not mine.

    If SM actually gave a shit they would have changed it a long time ago. But why bother if it's working? They already have big fanbases, sell well and have a critically acclaimed discography.     That being said, I always find it weird when people call SM groups robotic, with all that vocal talent and personality they exude in their music. Meanwhile there are groups that sound like actual robots out there and no one ever throws this detestable label at them.

    You nailed it with the noise and weird nonsense lyrics, but who knows, maybe the West will love it one day.

    And I agree SM groups are like robots when performing.

    They look too serious on stage, as if they're counting the steps in their heads.

    west likes more hip hop self producing groups, maybe if they let nct, aespa take active production in their music who knows

    NCT and aespa never sing in their songs. They are either talking or screaming over instrumentals. Instrumentals are at the forefront in their music, not their singing. Where do you get personality from their music? Nothing screams personality from their music. Their music is robotic and singing is robotic as well. That's why people criticise them. Other than Mark no one else gives off personality while performing across both the groups. Also they rarely sing live lol.

    Exo and Red Velvet almost always sing in their songs. Very rarely anyone says anything negative about them. They also perform live more often than not.

    NCT and aespa get criticised for a reason. It is very much deserved.

    Aespa's first EP debuted at number twenty on the Billboard 200.

    Next Level is literally based on a pre-existing American song.
