Approved the thread. -
It's not hurtful, it's just inaccurate because noise music is an actual genre that has nothing to do with Kpop.
It's like calling Twice alternative rock. It's just factually incorrect.
That and people using it as an insult for music they don't like while trying to sound like they understand music genres is so cringe.
-
Noise music has a bad connotation. I guess when people say it's noise music as a criticism, they are saying it has no flow/structure. Too chaotic and loud.
Personally, I find myself disliking the term because I feel like people label anything as noise music nowadays and also because there are negative interpretations and positive interpretations of what noise music is, so it can be hard to tell what people mean when they label music as "noise".

why are fans so hurt when their faves are tagged as untalented?
why are fans so hurt when their fave are tagged as problematics?
why are fans so hurt when their fave's music is tagged as a flop?
why are fans so hurt when their fave's music is tagged as bad?
why are fans so hurt when their fave's success is tagged as inorganic?
why are fans...
Isn't It obvious people don't like to see their faves being dragged? -
-
If it is used for constructive criticism, it is okay. People are using it as an insult and they are thinking that's cool
-
Because it doesn't denote an actual genre in kpop, people use it to diminish complex and/or innovative songs and lump them together with songs that are indeed generic.

Why do people act so hurt when they're being corrected
It's a false tag. If anything, people who push it should be embarrassed. They get super sensitive and hurt when non-kpop fans come up with the most silly labels for their favored kpop acts, but act in the idiotic same manner about things outside their faves.
For example, I've see so many users on here swearing they hate all EDM despite their faves putting out nothing but that ironically. Electro pop, syth pop, synth wave, deep house. Google it. None can hold a proper discussion or elaborate why something should be labeled noise outside very vague descriptions. -

This. Reading threads where people explain what they mean by noise music and seeing a million different answers, none of which were based on facts but personal opinions, was enough to make me not take them seriously.

I'm a fan of Edm (and subgenres) and some "Edm" songs by Kpop boy groups are a mess. I think EDM fans won't listen to those songs either.

Elaborate more and with examples. Otherwise, just the same vague and baseless claim.

And what's with the fake concern op?
