    Yeah, now, years after other companies have been doing it far longer than SM.


    Same with ads for views, the other companies had been doing it for years until SM decided to do it, and even then sparse, not consistent for all their groups and comebacks. Psycho had RV become #2 in Spotify monthly listeners, and SM hardly did any push for it, a big waste of potential.

    Same for adding subs for their MV's, they only started with it years after other companies had already been doing it for years.


    So no, SM are notoriously bad at making use of opportunities which is why they have to play catch up to other companies in things those other companies have already been doing for years. And when they try and make some effort, they still have to figure out when and how to do it effectively, with hit-or-miss attempts like SuperM as result.

  • Ad views don't count for BB charting so it doesn't matter for that. SM has already given their groups ad's for a long time, including Exo and RV.


    And no not all companies do paid playlisting. Jyp barely did anything for Twice during the Feels(which peaked out at just over 31m and didn't feature on any major US playlists) during Loco Itzy didn't touch 20m playlisting reach.


    Red Velvet currently has a playlisting reach of 45 million, only 1 girl group has ever had higher. BlackPink. And the level of play list they are on are quite bizarre and obviously company influenced.


    They are on Women of Pop, Teen Beats and New Music Friday US, etc with combined PLR of 11.1 million in the USA alone. This in spite of not entering any US streaming charts, doing poor on iTunes US and Shazam. It isn't a hit or an anticipated song yet got added to some big US playlists. To say 'every company does this' is disingenuous.


    They were also added to New Music Friday UK, France and Canada inspite of again the song failing to do anything on streaming charts in those countries. They had a lot more western playlisting than any Kpop act not called BP or BTS and without any justification.


    The song fell out of AM global charts on day 4 and is after just 1 week already below 1m daily streams on Spotify inspite of massive playlisting. On Spotify the song isn't even charting on any non Asian chart and on Apple music it's charting low on 1 non Asian country, NZ at 149. Same for Shazam and Dezer, only Asian countries.


    Stop saying SM ain't promoting or doing anything with em when they are very obviously setting up playlisting for them.

    Why are you even talking about the last comeback of 1 of SM's groups, of which I already said that SM's promoting now, when I was talking of all the many times they haven't done any promoting for all the comebacks of all their groups in the past, not even the major comebacks of their groups where promotion could've made a difference?


    Is it because you admit that SM's promoting has been lacking in the past, and that you can't say that SM have been promoting all their groups and all their comebacks in the past, and not even 1 out of 10?

    Is that why you only focus on the few times SM makes some attempt, while completely ignoring all the other times that SM did hardly anything that could be considered good promoting?
