Muslim is a religion, not an ethnicity, not an identity. This is like calling anyone from Europe Christian. Please elaborate, how is she a muslim?
Hui are a minority group in China, and they are almost entirely Muslim. Regardless of the city she lived, that's her ethnic background

If you want to equate religion and ethnicity then I know there is at least one indonesian national in a girl group already

The difference is the ancestors of Hui were originally Muslims, so their identity in China was prominently based on their religion, while for other factors they assimilated a lot into the Han Chinese culture. Of course people can decide to practice their religion or no longer want to identify with it, but chances are she would still identify as a Muslim if asked her religion. Similarly, a lot of Uyghurs today are still Muslim in China despite being oppressed by the Chinese government

If you go to the area called Inner Mongolia in China don't expect to be able to get by with just knowledge of the mongolian language and no mandarin. Even in a place like Hong Kong where cantonese enjoyed for ages prestigious status, gets more and more usurped by mandarin. The process of sinicization is profound.

Most people in china do not follow a religion, so most likely she is not religious at all.
But yes, if people can confirm her religion, I guess she would be the first (if she makes it and is proven to follow Islam).
