a song doesn't have to be "good" for you to like it...

can you love and support the artist? yes!

can you think the song is cool, fun to listen to, and catchy? yes!

can you think the song is kinda basic and absolutely not new at the same time? yes!

just because you like a song and you have the ability to recognize it's kinda basic etc. doesn't mean you're a fake fan, sometimes a song is just nice on the ears but just not objectively "good"- and thinking that does not make you a villain

this concept has become so lost over time. i've seen so many recent discussions on instagram reels and here that made me want to bring this up, that is all. let's all be civil.

My stance: Love and support your favs by buying concert tickets and merch, not by supporting songs which you don't even enjoy merely just to love and support the artist. Make your favs' company give them at the bare minimum fun, catchy songs even if the songs are not objectively good.

I'm OK with fun, catchy songs even if they are not objectively good. Yes, I'm saying there are non-fun, non-catchy not objectively good songs out there that stans force themselves to support.
