How are we in the 4th gen when the third is still dominating everything?

Kpop generations are short though. 7 years is what i consider the standard generation time period, correlating to 7 year contracts. And most Kpop bands dont last past 7 years and the ones that do peaked a long time ago (SUJU, SNSD, etc). Only Big Bang managed to peak at year 10, which is unbelievable.

I'm not consistent myself though, since i refer to Gidle, SKZ, Ateez, and Loona as 4th generation even though they debuted before what i consider the official start of 4th generation (2019 with Itzy).

BigBang was still big and dominating in 2015 tho. Even though it's already in the 3rd Gen.
