Why is everything on the charts in Latin America reggaeton

Reggaeton is pretty good to dance to. That's my theory at least is that they like to party to it to forget about life's problems.

My theory:
It's summertime. Reggaeton is perfect for summertime. People are going on vacation and going out to places. They're chillin'.
Also, Copa América is going on. Latin American countries often take great pride in their national soccer teams, so reggaeton is a great way to celebrate and cherish the moments. The streets are probably filled with these energetic, vibrant songs as we speak.

Because it's really popular between the young people, I can't think of people that don't know Bad Bunny or Maluma (like them or not, they make noise), in fact, song of the year here was hawái, I'm not from latin america, but here is also really popular and always topping charts too. Also it's impossible to go out and not hear at least one reggaeton song, and don't even think about going to a party and hear something that is not reggaeton because that's impossible.

I guess it's because it's the biggest Spanish genre, especially in Hispanic America. I'm not sure about Spain.
But it's not common in Brazil because we speak Portuguese.
