Mostly because Korea doesn't really care about 4th gen groups compared to past generations, and their popularity is so skewed towards international fans. Big Bang is/was one of the most popular groups internationally and had a style that appealed to westerners for example. But they're also still huge in Korea and were able to win the hearts of Koreans. This is why I'm puzzled by the comparisons.
I'm not even a VIP, but in my opinion, it just feels weird to compare 4th gen groups to Big Bang, in terms of popularity/impact
