Tbh it's not just EXO, but probably as you grow older you also have other priorities in life as well.
Of course for the first few years it's all about the hustle and grind but once you reached past 5 - 7 years and achieved a certain level of success maybe you want to take some time to actually explore other stuff. Especially considering that the idol life is extremely draining and tiring.

I think that's the right perspective...
think about all the groups that grind away on music shows, varieties etc that barely anybody watches and still wake up at 4am to grind away the next day sacrificing their health and youth to barely eek out a "living"
