Are idols and entertainers in general tools of the elite?

That's what someone said about football in the US. They referred to the NFL and college football as a way to keep the young male population distracted, giving them an alternative outlet for their testosterone fueled aggression lol. Without them, we get shit like race riots and crime run amok.

Celebrities like self-made youtubers, etc are really independent entities

But being an idol under a company with deep political connections is sus for sure.

In my country soccer is almost like a disease, ppl loose all brain cells when their team is on the field. We also took months to give answers about vaccines but as soon as people wanted to make the America's Cup here the government was "HELL YES, LET'S RECEIVE FOREIGNERS"

But also kpop stans need to understand that kpop is not that important to Koreans that they will be using idols scandals to cover up serious government issues
