Seeing how koreans in general are so against China and I don't think that will stop anytime soon. What if Kpop companies shift towards SEA region? People there are friendly and looking up to Korea. Sure some koreans look down on them, but I would think knetz wouldn't mind having korean companies focusing on the various SEA countries than clinging to China.
Can Kpop replace China's market with Southeast Asia one day?

Only partially. China is too big and buys too much.

China is a huge market, but honestly too unreliable. It's not a question of South Korea 'liking' or 'disliking' China, it's about China not having a liberal policy when it comes to cultural imports.
Too many possibilities for things to go wrong, all things considered
-
Xi Jinping might replace it for them - by banning the sale of Korean music.

As many have said, China is too big of a market. All industries are doing what they can to get into China, not just Kpop.

If SEA countries become richer

Only partially. China is too big and buys too much.
they are already tightening restrictions on "cultural import" from korea. Its going to be a slow shift but its going away from china.

A bit related to this topic. China could still potentially ban korean members of GP999 from performing in China. Don't think this will sit well with the korean public.
