• Well, I think throat singing is not something that can fit popular genres so I'm not surprised Mongolian youths don't listen to it much. The Hu makes it work because it fits the rock music they play.

In the metal genre, there's already a style of vocals that sounds like throat singing, called growls. It's a staple of the death metal genre. So for a death metal enthusiast, The Hu's traditional throat singing doesn't sound so outlandish.

yeah ofc traditional music can't become popular genre, apparently they have named it Hunnu rock, basically made it subgenre of rock to tap more international market since home market is small and unprofitable since we are only little over 3 million and we are poor

actually it is something very characteristic if you use it in songs

  • You may have a point when it comes to getting people's interest IMO. When it comes to worldwide/Korean beauty standards, the average of Kazakhstan people's beauty is great. In my country, people usually mention/reference Kazakstan people as the prettiest in the world. As for talents, it depends on the individuals. Though it's nice to remember Kazakhstan has Dimash. That guy is the world's best singer. You should have lead with that.

  • It's easier to try your luck going to Russia rather than going to SK.

You don't need to learn a new language. You don't need to sign a slavery contract etc.

In addition, there are plenty examples of successful kazakh singers and entertainers in Russia, there's not even one in SK.

i'm aware of that but even tho kpop is a huge platform that i think kazakhs should be able to take advantage of too.

when i was in the small circle of kazakhs tbh i was very insecure of our looks. for us white=pretty idea is greater than any other country. if you're from a mixed family ( which is very common, like me ) if you look more asian than caucasian you're seen as unpretty. my father has light hair, colored eyes with not so monolids but i was born with monolids, black hair, tan skin... my nickname in school was japanese and once we learned about kubilai khan in middle school it became kubilai khan

once i got out of this small circle and discovered international views towards us i noticed how our looks are very special, unique and beautiful

and this is partially why i want us to be represented in an international platform
