Well said. People lose their minds when they hear that the "age of consent in Japan is 13," but they don't understand that it's simply a federal minimum and all regions have it way older than that. In other words, it's an outdated minimum that doesn't actually matter because every governed region of Japan has a higher age of consent anyway.

I did NOT realize that about JAPAN ... And that AGE 13 Sexual Consent is LISTED mostly and referenced ... Interestingly too , S.KOREA is *AGE 13* though on SEXUAL CONSENT , to *some* extent ... My reference Article (URL below) would be this one -->

Having said this , there is a additional S.KOREA 'Rider Law' that also states that any *MONEY INCENTIVE* (say a PORNO MOVIE Acting Role *payment*) , or *UNDUE INFLUENCE* (A Teacher or Religious Leader) , or *IMPAIRED SITUATION* (say ALCOHOL or DRUGS) would *increase* the AGE of CONSENT to AGE 18 in S.KOREA ... But IF that say some AGE 13 Female just likes some AGE 40 Male , as say some kind of 'Love Toy' (?). As the ARTICLE referenced above stated it , that was found to be LEGAL in S.KOREA for AGE 13 Female to choose to have sexual activity in that circumstance. And that I know it , the S.KOREA LAW on this has NOT changed ... But NOTE that the S.KOREA MALE who was finally RELEASED from PRISON by the S.K SUPREME COURT , spent *significant time in prison* while moving through the S.KOREA LEGAL COURT SYSTEM ... NOT sure here on how LONG that he was in PRISON , but AWHILE definitely ... So , here , NOT quite sure that AGE 13 SEXUAL CONSENT is all that 'easy' to 'sell it' in a S.K COURT of LAW ... You have to worry about MONEY INFLUENCE , and all kinds of factors ... BUT also , I do NOT believe that S.KOREA LAW has changed from what it was in Year 2014 when the S.K SUPREME COURT decided this particular referenced case.
