A lot of Kfans are fickle. The second there's any kind of 'scandal' they drop the artist even if it's them fighting the cruel company they were stuck under. He got a lot of rumors during that time too

Daniel's fandom now isn't huge but it's extremely dedicated and that's what really matters imo

the hype from produce and wanna one just kinda died down. jihoon was also pretty popular and now he barely makes a buzz, at least daniel sells pretty high
