for me that song didn't start until taeyeon actually started singing

Rap is almost as integral to kpop as it is to hiphop imo.

I think you’re talking more about rap features right? When a non-rap focused song, suddenly has a rapper come in, drop a few bars and then ducks out.

I definitely agree Boys A Liar and Spaghetti are much better without the rap features, and I can think of countless songs that would be better without the rap feature (to this day the rap feature I loathe the most is Tinashe - 2 On, what a god awful rap in an otherwise legendary song).

I like lots of rap features in otherwise already rap-focused songs (like playboi carti dropping a verse on a trippie red song or something), but I am struggling to think of non-rap focused songs I like where a rapper comes in for a feature… there are a few tho:

I guess my views are extreme in the sense I really would rather not listen to any rap ever. Perhaps since these are songs that are bubbly and pop and my taste it's just particularly annoying to me to have rap butt in where it doesn't belong and isn't welcome !!!
